Anastasia Matte Lipstick Set Review + Swatches

Hello guys! Welcome back to our blog. Today I want to review for you the Anastasia Matte lipsticks that I’ve tried in this set and I actually really enjoy. This post will include swatches of all four as well.

Overview:

  • This kit is discontinued I believe, but I found mine at Marshalls for $14
  • cruelty free!
  • Contains four mini lipsticks in varying shades of pink from Anastasia’s matte lipstick line.
  • Orchid, Cotton Candy, Stargazer, Plumeria are the shades included and they are all available in the full size.

Promise: Anastasia Beverly Hills Matte Lipsticks are full pigment lip color with a smooth, ultra-matte finish. (From the Anastasia Website)

These definitely have an ultra matte finish, they look like you’ve applied a super matte liquid lip, but they are not nearly as drying. My only complaint with these is that this formula is not super creamy and smooth, it almost feels like you’re applying a powder/cream lipstick, it won’t glide across your lips cleanly. With a little bit of patience you can build them up to a gorgeous gorgeous matte finish though. They are comfortable, not drying at all and they are pretty long wearing. November Beauty Favorites!

Hello guys! Welcome back to our blog. Today I want to share with you my November favorites, and there is quite a few!

Makeup:

Physician’s Formula The Healthy Lip liquid lipstick in berry healthy – This is a beautiful berry/mauve shade! What I love to do with this is dot a little bit on the center of my lips and then smudge it out with my finger for a matte lip tint!

Physicians Formula butter highlighter in pearl – My skin always looks so dry and dull in the winter, and this has been my favorite highlighter to use, I use it every day. It has a beautiful formula and a lovely glow.

Urban Decay Comfort Matte Vice lipstick in Backtalk – I love this as a lipstick, but this past month I have been using it as a cream blush and I think it is gorgeous! Can someone tell me if Urban Decay makes this as a blush? Because I will buy it!

NYX Micro Brow pencil in Taupe – This has been my go to brow product. It is impossible to mess up with this pencil, my brows always look filled in and feathery, like real hair. I enjoy the definition it gives and it’s easy to use. Continue reading “November Beauty Favorites!”

3 Products I’ve Changed My Mind About

Hello everyone and welcome back to our blog! Today I wanted to share with you some products that I’ve changed my mind about! Let’s get into it:

Vapour beauty illuminator in shade Halo

I didn’t enjoy this highlighter at all at first because the formula was kind of dry. I felt like it moved around my foundation and was too glittery. I have since figured out how to work with it and I enjoy it a lot more now if I just pat it very gently on with my fingertip and use a small amount. When you apply it right it can look very shiny and gorgeous!

Butter London Bloody Brilliant Lippy Crayons in shades Teddy Boy and Ruby Murray

These lip crayons were a couple that I absolutely use to love when I first got them, but now they don’t do much for me. The formula is super moisturizing and glossy and the nude shade I have really looks pretty on the lips. When I got the red shade, I realized I have issues with the formula. These lip crayons  get absolutely everywhere, they go outside the lip line, they settle into the cracks of your lips and I love the finish but they just don’t wear well at all.

Becca cream eyeliner in the shade Neo Classic

This cream eyeliner is one that I didn’t use to enjoy at all, but now I really love it. The formula is very lightweight and airy, it feels nice and goes onto the lid or your waterline smoothly. At first I didn’t like the color of this or the glitter, but now I’m really into it. It is super fun for a night out or a cool concert look or something like that. I really do want to get this liner in the black shade, but I am loving this shade much more than I used to!

That’s it for 3 products that I changed my mind about! Have any of you recently stopped enjoying using a product, or found out a way to make something work for you, let me know in the comments down below!

Max Studio Liquid Lipstick

Hello my lovlies! If you guys have been keeping up with our blog, you know that Hailey and i love us some Marshalls makeup. Going to Marhsalls was one of my favorite things to do with Haily becuase her and i would pick apart the makeup/beauty section till there was nothing left! Anything with Hailey is a joy, its also just fun to talk about our lovely followers, and you better believe her and i talk about you all non-stop!

Today i will be reviewing Max Studio’s liquid lipstick. I found this lipstick at Marshalls while Hailey was helping me find shoes for graduation. Its funny because i told myself i was only there to get shoes and help Hailey pick out makeup or shoes if she needed it. Naturally i have no self control and bought this lipstick…want to know my reasoning? “Christine, you need this lipstick because you dont have lipsticks.” If you have seen any of our post, a majority of mine are lipsticks. I have a huge addiction to lipsticks its kinda scary. But hey, more content for our blogs right?

Max Studio Liquid Lipstick:

Description:

  • redish pink shade
  • plastic tube
  • cushioned applicator
  • long gold cap to hold

Pros:

  • smooth application

Wet N Wild product review!

Hello my lovelies! I can’t believe it’s already August! How is everyone feeling about that? I’m excited. Today I move down to Texas!! Comment down below if you’re in Texas…and what it’s like down there because it’s very different from where I used to live!

Okay let’s get into today’s blog. I will be reviewing some Wet N Wild products. I would like to say I really like how affordable Wet N Wild products are, and how cute a lot of their products are packaged. Not to mention they’re cruelty free!

Wet N Wild Velvet Matte Lip Color:

Now I’m going in order of what I bought. I bought this lipstick first. What drew me to this product was it’s matte looking packaging. The orange is a bit softer and more matte looking than a normal orange lipstick would look. I thought that this was how the product would look like on, considering it says Velvet Matte. Unfortunately I was mistaken. It was more of a cream, and the color was hardly visible on my lips.

I wasn’t excited to try the rest of these products after trying this. I didn’t pike how the product wasn’t very creamy, wasn’t very Mattifying, nor was it Velvety. The cap would also not stay on, so it broke and I threw it away.

Wet N Wild photofocus foundation:

What drew me to this product was all the hype I was seeing online about it. Everyone was saying how great it was, so I wanted to try out for myself. I was really pleased with what I got. I really like how it comes with a paddled applicator

This paddled applicator made it glide on easily. I would say the coverage for this foundation is a medium to full. If you want it to look more full you can always apply another layer. When I applied two layers (just to see what it would look like), I noticed it didn’t look very cakey which I liked. The only thing I didn’t like about this product was how it was slightly too dark for my skin tone. Which wasn’t the products fault, but my own.

Photo Focus Matte Face Primer:

Boy does this product really work. I like how thin the primer is, a little can go a long way with this one which I like since the packaging is sorta small. This product mattifys very quickly I find out, and once it’s sunk in, it’s rather difficult to blend out. So I suggest when putting on foundation, put it on in sections! Other than that I really like the product!

Wet N Wild Concealor:

I really liked how well this concealer partnered with the photo focus foundation. It blends easily and had a semi full coverage.

Eyeshadow Pallet:

I was drawn to this product because of it assortment of colors. I really liked how they all worked together and how pigmented they were.

I also really like how you can easily use these for a day out or a night out. I’ve never tried their eyeshadows and I am pleasantly surprised by how much I like them!

That’s it for today’s blog!

Comment down below what your favorite Wet N Wild product is!

Top 5 Drugstore Makeup Products

Hello guys! Welcome back to our blog, today I’m sharing my favorite affordable makeup products with you!

1. NYX butter lip glosses in Tiramisu and Angel Food Cake

These are so good! They are lovely and moisturizing. They aren’t super lightweight, but they aren’t really thick or heavy either. The color payoff is nice, and to top it off they are super affordable and have an amazing color selection.

2. Physicians Formula Butter Highlighter in Pearl

The formula on these is technically a powder, but if you touch these they are almost like a cream. They apply best with just your fingers or a dense brush, a fan brush or loosely packed one won’t pick up much product. The sheen is super shimmery and a bit glittery!

3. ELF tone correcting powder in cool

Favorite Drugstore Lipsticks!

Hello love bugs!

Now you know how your girl love her some drug store makeup! Here is a little mini review on some new lipsticks I got!

Nyx liquid suede

Now I lost this one just recently and I’m so upset! I really love this lipstick. It gives the perfect matte finish and it’s so long lasting!

Nyx lingerie

This one I love love love! I tend to lean more toward the red shades when it comes to lipsticks, but this is my favorite non red shade of lipstick I have! I love the thick matte finish, but it doesn’t feel thick against your lips! My only advice it to put on lip balm before application, once it dries it tends to flake off, lip balm keeps it smooth all day.

Liquid catsuit

Like I said before. I love red shades. I’ve never had a super bright red lipstick so I was super excited to get this. Unfortunately after I put it on it began to crust and flake, so I didn’t like it as much. I do now put on lip balm before hand, it does help, just not as much as I would like.

That’s it for today! What’s your favorite brand of lipstick?

May Beauty Favorites!

Hello guys! Welcome back our blog! All through May, I’ve been loving all sorts of old favorites so lets get into what I’ve been loving this month:

Makeup:

Eye Makeup –

Urban Decay Perversion Mascara

This mascara makes your lashes so black and the formula glides on so easily. None of the new mascaras I’m trying go on as easily and as black as this one. I only use a tiny amount of product on the brush because this can get gloppy so quickly, but if you are careful, it looks beautiful and you get thick fluttery lashes.

Face Makeup –

ELF Tone Correcting Powder in cool

I have been loving this powder to set my foundation, it will mattify but it won’t leave your skin looking dry or flat. I won’t bore you guys because I literally just did a review, but I have been using this every day this month!

ELF $2 Blush in the shade Shy

This is the blush I’ve been reaching for all month. The formula is lovely, it is cheap, the color makes my fair skin look awake and healthy and gives a perfect flush to the cheeks. These are so easy to apply and blend and I just can’t stop wearing this blush!

My night time routine

Hello love bugs!

I remembered way back when our blog was little itty bitty fetus, I did a morning routine, so today I shall share my night time routine.

  1. Remove all makeup.

I remove my makeup using coconut oil, I find it really helps to remove my mascara. For a deeper cleanse I use rose water to remove all the excess dirt and makeup. I use a cotton ball until there’s no more makeup/dirt. After that I spray the Mario Badescu facial spray on and massage it into my skin. Once a week I will use a charcoal face mask before bed

2. Brush and braid hair

My hair has grown a lot longer since cutting it, and I find that if I have it down or up in a pony tail I wake up with the most horrific knots. So I brush through my hair about 100 times (50 each side) to make it soft, silky and knot free. Next I put a very little amount of rose oil onto my fingers and run it through my hair. This helps with shine, after this I braid my hair and call it good! I also find the rose oil helps my hair smell amazing the next morning when I take the braids out.

3. Brush teeth

Naturally I brush my teeth. I use baking soda and lemon juice first. I find it helps whiten my teeth as well as break down plaque and other gross stuff resting on your teeth! Next I use Tom’s mint toothpaste to brush my teeth. I really like how Tom’s has no fluoride in their products, it’s all natural!

4. Switch on my essential oil diffuser

I have a really hard time sleeping at night. With a little lavender oil in the air I find my sleeping has greatly improved! This especially helps after a long day of school and retail!

5. Put my mouth guard on and call it a night!

As a high stress person, I grind my teeth at night. This causes a lot of pain in my jaw the next morning, so I use my night guard to stop myself from grinding, after that I go to sleep.

That’s it for my nighttime routine! What do you do?

LA Colors Matte Lipstick

Hello my lovelies! I hope you all are having a lovely week so far!

Today I will be reviewing La colors matte lipstick

LA colors matte liquid lipstick

I’ve always loved dark red matte lipsticks, and for this photo shoot I was going on, I thought that this shade would be wonderful for the job!

I got this from my local drugstore (I know I know pretty soon I will have bought the whole drug store!), la colors is known for being sorta cheap and not the highest of quality, but I didn’t care so long as it was dark and matte.

The application was very good, it was smooth and easy. A bit messy at times.

img_0801

If you do mess up though, it’s very hard to simply wipe it off with your thumb.

I also noticed how long it lasted, this matte lasted about half the day, which for a matte was kinda of disappointing, usually mattes stay on 24/7, but half the day is a lot better than having to re apply every hour.

My biggest issues was that it got messy after you’ve applied it. I could have had it applied neatly and perfectly, have it all dried, and somehow it would end up all over the place and I would look like the Joker! I couldn’t really eat with it on, or drink with it on. I couldn’t really do anything. There were times I felt I couldn’t even talk in fear that it would somehow end up everywhere!

So I don’t really know where I stand with this product, half of me loves it and half of me hates it.

I feel like this is perfect lipstick for like a photo shoot or any event where you’re doing literally nothing but standing, this isn’t perfect for going to work or school!

Ta ta my loves!

What’s you’re favorite matte lipstick?
