Milani Retouch and Erase Concealer Review

Hello guys! Welcome back to our blog. Today I want to share a review on a concealer that I really love from the drugstore that I haven’t heard anyone talk about in a while. For me this is a drugstore gem and I want to share it:

Overview:

  • $8.99
  • comes in 3 shades
  • cruelty free

Promise: Milani’s Retouch + Erase Light-Lifting Concealer is designed to instantly hide dark circles, spots, blemishes and imperfections with a brightening effect. (From Ulta’s website)

So I really love this concealer because it blends out really easily with your fingers, or a sponge. It gives a nice sheer-medium coverage on me and the really yellow tone of the concealer makes it nice for covering my undereye circles. Continue reading “Milani Retouch and Erase Concealer Review”

February Beauty Favorites!

Hi guys! Welcome back to our blog. I haven’t written a post in a little while and I’m so happy to be back. Today is the day when we talk about beauty favorites from the last month, so let’s jump into it.

Face Products:

Urban Decay Naked Skin Concealer in Fair

This concealer is something I’ve had for a long time but I was never able to make it work for me before this month. I apply just a little bit with my finger or a sponge underneath my eyes and on anywhere I want to spot conceal and it truly looks beautiful with sheer-medium coverage. Before I was using too much product and it kept going cakey and looked horrible under my eyes, but now I love this concealer!

Eye Products:

Smashbox Full Exposure mascara in Black

This mascara is so pretty on my lashes, it makes them look fake and so long. I love that this gives me a little bit of volume, black lashes, and makes them long. The brush is huge, so that is my only issue with it, but that does make sure that I get all my lashes coated. I love that this mascara keeps my lashes curled too!

Tartelette Matte eyeshadow palette

If you couldn’t tell, this was the month of discovering old things in my collection! I recently pulled this out and now I am obsessed with it. The shadows really work for me now and I enjoy them! My absolute favorite look is using the four purple toned shadows in the middle row, it is so pretty and compliments my brown eyes.

Butter London Glazen Eye Gloss in Icing

This is a stunning eyeshadow, it is a jelly so I usually apply a glitter glue (my favorite is the nyx pigment primer) and then I just pat it on with my fingertips, it is so stunning and glittery, and the formula doesn’t crease. This has been my go-to for a quick and low maintenance glittery eye look.

Lip Products

Urban Decay cream finish lipstick in Violate

This purple-pink cream lipstick pairs gorgeously with that warm toned purply eye look I have been doing a ton of. It is so pretty and the formula is so moisturizing and comfortable. I love using this as cream blush also, it is really pretty and I can’t get enough of using it!

Buxom Full On Lip Cream in Patricia

This is a gorgeous lip topper, it is pink and has shimmers that are white-gold and blue in it. Although that might sound tacky it is actually so pretty on its own, or over lipstick and you guys already know I love the Buxom gloss formula. It is a little bit cooling because it is a plumper but it makes your lips look really juicy and soft.

Those are my favorites for this month! I hope you guys enjoyed this post and I will see you all with a new one very soon. Let me know in the comments something you’ve been loving!

NYX Matte Bronzer

Hello my lovlies! Im here with another beauty blog…Duh!

Today i will be reviewing NYX’s Matte Bronzer. I’ve heard a lot of good things about this bronzer, and having never used a bronzer before in my life i thought why not try this one!

This bronzer was around $9 ( 7p ), and i got this one at my local Target, but im sure you can find it at any store that has a beauty section. If youc cant find NYX in any of your stores, im sure you can find this bronzer on NYX’s website.

I will be completely honest, i have no idea how on earth to use bronzer, its definitley something i need way way more practice on.

I will start out by saying, i think i got too dark of a shade, because when i apply it to my face it looks like i’ve applied mud on. Im researching ways to lighten bronzer without buying a lighter shade. If you know any ways feel free to comment that down below.

Matte Bronzer:

Description:

  • Round black container
  • Mirror located on top lid
  • Compacted powder

Pros:

  • Mirror inside makes it easier to see what youre doing
  • you only need a little and it ges a long way
  • As described, it give a matte look when finished
  • long lasting

Cons:

  • Too dark for me, but that isnt a problem with the product, its my own error

All in all i feel like if i had a lighter shade, and knew how to use it better, i would enjoy this product even more. Right now its too dark for me to use a daily, or at all. If youre new to bronzer like i am, i suggest buying the shade you think you are, and then the shade lighter than that. Just it case you make the same mistake as i do! I dont think i can rate this product since my human error was so large, but i if it was more my shade i definitly would enjoy this bronzer a lot

Thats it for todays blog, hope you enjoyed!

Comment down below your biggest makeup fail!

3 Products I’ve Changed My Mind About

Hello everyone and welcome back to our blog! Today I wanted to share with you some products that I’ve changed my mind about! Let’s get into it:

Vapour beauty illuminator in shade Halo

I didn’t enjoy this highlighter at all at first because the formula was kind of dry. I felt like it moved around my foundation and was too glittery. I have since figured out how to work with it and I enjoy it a lot more now if I just pat it very gently on with my fingertip and use a small amount. When you apply it right it can look very shiny and gorgeous!

Butter London Bloody Brilliant Lippy Crayons in shades Teddy Boy and Ruby Murray

These lip crayons were a couple that I absolutely use to love when I first got them, but now they don’t do much for me. The formula is super moisturizing and glossy and the nude shade I have really looks pretty on the lips. When I got the red shade, I realized I have issues with the formula. These lip crayons  get absolutely everywhere, they go outside the lip line, they settle into the cracks of your lips and I love the finish but they just don’t wear well at all.

Becca cream eyeliner in the shade Neo Classic

This cream eyeliner is one that I didn’t use to enjoy at all, but now I really love it. The formula is very lightweight and airy, it feels nice and goes onto the lid or your waterline smoothly. At first I didn’t like the color of this or the glitter, but now I’m really into it. It is super fun for a night out or a cool concert look or something like that. I really do want to get this liner in the black shade, but I am loving this shade much more than I used to!

That’s it for 3 products that I changed my mind about! Have any of you recently stopped enjoying using a product, or found out a way to make something work for you, let me know in the comments down below!

L.A Colors Brand Review

Hello lovelies! Back again with a blog. Like me recent Elf blog, I feel LA colors is a hit or miss. Some products are great for your buck, while others are instant throw aways.

I’ll start off with the…

L.A Colors eyebrow gel:

Now I usually use a pencil to do my brows, but I wanted to try something new and use a gel. I was interested to find out that this product didn’t really have a gel feel to it, it was more like an eyebrow pencil but it a small little jar opposed to a stick. For coverage I give this a 10/10 because it really does fill in your brows and it really does stay which I like a lot.

L.A Colors Auto Eyeliner:

I got this retractable eyeliner because I thought it would be nice to line my under lid with on days where I go for a darker makeup look, or nights out. Continue reading “L.A Colors Brand Review”

Beauty Empties: July-August

Hello guys! Welcome back to our blog! I managed to finish a lot of beauty products these last two months since I was attempting to get rid of some of my products before I moved into college dorms. I just moved in a week ago and I’m having fun at college, although I am sad to be away from Christine!

Let’s get into the empties:

Makeup:

NYX Butter Gloss in Angel Food Cake – This is my favorite lip gloss of all time and I love it! I finished it off and I have already repurchased.

Moon Valley Organics Beeswax Lip Balm – This lipbalm I found at the health food store and it was okay but it was super oily which I was not a fan of. I wouldn’t repurchase this.

Butter London Wink Matte Liquid Eyeliner in Brown Sugar – This eyeliner was really nice! I would definitely repurchase it in the black shade, I don’t usually wear brown liner.

Stila Stay All Day Waterproof Liquid Liner – I really enjoyed this eyeliner. This is something I definitely would repurchase. It is super black and really does stay on all day!

Skincare:

Terremere Tea and Aloe Hydrating Cleanser – I really enjoyed this cream cleanser. It really took off my makeup nicely and it left my face feeling fresh. It is super expensive if I can’t find it on Hautelook, so I wouldn’t repurchase.

Mychelle Pure Harmony cleanser – This cream cleanser was also really nice. This was really gentle on my skin and I did enjoy it, but I feel like I could find something better for cheaper, so I wouldn’t repurchase!

Evan Healy Lavender Facial Tonic Hydrosoul – This was a toner sort of product and I did like what it did for my skin, just it was very heavily scented and it really began to bother me, so I would not buy the full size of this.

Ean Healy Pomegranate Repair Serum – This serum was really thick and moisturizing, but this one happened to give me some clogged pores, and it didn’t make my skin glow the way it does with other serums.  I wouldn’t buy the full size.

Beautycounter Nourishing Night Cream – This was so lovely and hydrating! These beauty counter products were gifted to us by an instagram friend (@betterbeauty101). I really enjoyed this night cream and I would buy a full size!

Beautycounter Nourishing Eye Cream – This was a nice eye cream, it felt good on the skin and I really enjoyed using this sample, but I’ve just bought the Derma-e one and I want to use that up before I buy a full size of this, so maybe I’d repurchase in the future!

Haircare:

I know I never use up haircare anything but I finally put my mind to it and I have four empties!

NH hotels Soft Mask – I definitely stole this from the hotel I was at in Spain but I loved this hair mask and I wish there was somehow I could buy it again because it made my hair so soft!

Aveda Invati Advanced Exfoliating Shampoo – This was a really good shampoo for getting all the buildup out of my roots. I really enjoyed it and it didn’t make my hair frizzy so I would definitely buy the full size!

Aveda Invati Advanced Thickening Conditioner – This conditioner was very volumizing but it wasn’t moisturizing enough for my hair personally so I would not repurchase it, but I would recommend it if you are looking for volume!

Paul Mitchell The Detangler Conditioner – This conditioner was a very watery consistency and it was really hydrating and lovely but I still prefer my Mop conditioner so I would not buy this one!

Bodycare:

Sparituals Passionfruit Agave Vegan Nourishing Sugar Scrub – This was a gift, I loved it and I really enjoyed it and I was going to repurchase it until I saw the price tag. $50 is not something I can afford at all as a college student!

That is it for my empties! I hope you guys enjoyed this post. It is ridiculously long! Let me know something you’ve finished down below in the comments!

NYX Brand Review

Hello my lovelies! Lately we have been doing a lot of NYX reviews, but that’s just because NYX is awesome!

I cannot believe that it’s almost September! Almost chia tea latte season! I may not be a full white girl, but your girl loves her some chia tea latte in the fall, especially where Hailey and I used to live, a chia tea latte definitely warmed you up. Now that I’m in Texas I think I’m really going to miss a true fall season, but at the same I’m excited to not be so darn cold until August comes around again.

Ah! Now back to the review!

A few months ago I had a big NYX haul, the first of which was:

NYX Shimmery orange lipstick:

I bought this lipstick because I wanted to try getting out of my comfort zone. I often stick to non bright colors (until recently) so I would stick with reds and other more typical colors of lipstick. I was a bit worried to by this because I tried finding a non shimmery lipstick that was orange, having shimmer in it made this lipstick more out of my comfort zone

I’m happy to say that I actually liked the shimmer on the lips, it adds and nice touch to it and I really like this shade of orange! The last isn’t very long unfortunately, I had to re-apply it like every hour, other than that I really enjoyed this lipstick, definitely a keep!

Lingerie NYX:

E.l.f Brand Review

Hello my lovelies! I’m back with another Elf review! Lately I haven’t been a huge Elf fan. Elf has always been a hit or miss with their products, and for awhile I was getting more hits than misses, but now I’m getting more misses than hits.

I’m gonna start with the…

Elf makeup remover pen:

As you can see I’ve already used this..well duh Christine, why wouldn’t you review something you haven’t used?

Well I wouldn’t, can’t judge a book by its cover. This product I found with Hailey and we were both very excited for me to try it out. If you’re like me, there are those days that your eyeliner just doesn’t want to work with you (comment down below if you have those days!) and that can be a PAIN! I thought that this one would clean away any eyeliner mess perfectly. I was surprised that it did kind of work, although the brush of this pen is a bit oily to help remove makeup, it took the eyeliner off, but it also smudged that area really bad, so it didn’t fully remove the makeup. So I give removal a 3/10 because it didn’t fully remove the makeup. I also didn’t like how it dried out within the hour I opened it, and I didn’t even have it opened for that long, so that was my second biggest issue with the product, it doesn’t fully remove makeup and it doesn’t really last long at all, for last I would give it a 0/10. All in all I really thought this product would be a big hit, a must have, but I would make recommend this if you have like a special event for the day and want it just in case? Other than that it didn’t work very well.

NYX Worth The Hype Mascara Review

Hello everyone! Welcome back to our blog, today’s post is going to be a review on the NYX worth the hype mascara!

Lets get into it:

Overview:

  • Price: $7.99
  • Cruelty free!

Promise:

Easy to apply and comfortable to wear, the clump-free mascara features a specially designed brush that coats and separates individual lashes for ultimate impact and definition. Expect fuller, longer looking lashes with a long-wearing finish. (Product details from the NYX website!)

Overall, I really love this mascara! It gives you natural looking, very fluttery and separated lashes. The brush does define each lash nicely, and it doesn’t get nearly as clumpy as other mascaras that I have tried. This mascara does wear all day, so it definitely lives up to what it says it will do, and it is easy to remove at the end of the day also.
