Charlotte Russe Perfume

Hello my lovlies! Who is loving the Christmas season right now? Also what does the Christmas/Holiday season look like for you? Right now for me it’s actually rather warm. Im so used to a cold holiday season since i used to live in Washington. We usually got a white Holiday, but here in Texas its actually kind of bi-polar. One moment its cold and the next its in the in the high 80’s or 90’s which i dont mind at all. I have Latin blood in me, so living in a cold state was always very hard for me.

Speaking of the holiday season, if you’ve followed along with our blogs, you know that a few months ago i went to Charlotte Russe and basically bought the whole entire store.

Basically.

Anyway, when i did go it was August, and i decided to get to perfumes. Now i dont normally use perfumes like this. Im more of an essential oils type of girl, but during the move to Texas i had lost my essential oil rollers so, sad life please pity me (JUST KIDDING). Since i had lost my dear rollers, i decided to get two perfumes, one was a more summery fragrance (coconunt) and the other was more of a fall fragrance, which is the one that i will be reviewing today.

I have been using this perfume every day since i got it. I love how its not an over powering scent, its very natral low scent that is perfect for fall! You can definitley smell the vanilla and sugar, and its all really subtile which i love.

I really dont like over powering or very obvious fragranes, and thats why i mostly use essential oils, and this warm vanilla scent is truly amazing. I highly recommend going out and getting yourselves a little bottle of your own!

Well thats it for todays blog!

Life Update: First Semester of College!

Hello guys! Welcome back to our blog. Today is going to be a more personal post so I hope you are along for the ride! Grab a snack because I don’t know how long it will be. We will return to our regularly scheduled beauty blog programming in a couple of days.

I go to a college in California, at my dream school! I am majoring in Music industry studies, so I’m learning about the music business. I’m so excited to graduate and be an artist manager, or a social media marketing person for an artist, I’m not sure what the job title is.

Anyway, I moved into my dorm in mid-August of this year, my roommate is lovely and she and I are good friends. I’m happy to report that I had no roommate horror stories, which is great because we will be rooming for the next semester as well.

My dorm was so fun to decorate! it is all cute and Pinterest-y. I enjoyed creating my own space, all the wall art is from Marshalls and I love it.

I also joined the cross country team! I love all the girls on the team and I had a great time getting to know them. I was the only freshman but I had so much fun! I wish I could show you my uniform but it has my school name on it and I’d like to keep that private.

We run 6k races and we practice every weekday morning at 6 am, which I struggled with a little, not gonna lie. We did weights on Monday and Wednesday, and then a pool workout on Thursday. I am incredibly in shape right now and I love it!

My classes are not super difficult, they are based a lot on meeting industry people, so I’ve been able to manage my classwork with sports. I’m chasing down a social media marketing internship as well, so fingers crossed!

I am also in a rock band, and frequently write songs with a couple of composing friends so that is awesome! I enjoy being creative in my free time, I’ve been really busy with new projects so it has been preventing me from blogging!

I was able to make friends, I have several good guy friends, and a few good girl friends! Of course I still miss my high school orchestra cross country friends, Christine and I face time every couple of weeks if we can. I wasn’t homesick, but I did feel a little lonely during the semester so that was the only part that wasn’t the best, I just missed being around familiar people. Other than that I really enjoyed my college experience and I’m excited to go back for next semester!

Tips and tricks to get rid of bags under your eyes

Hello my loves! Now i know that we’ve all suffered from the pesky panda eyes. As a girl who has been through high school, and is currently going through college i have and feel i will always suffer from having bags under my eyes. That is oringinally got me into makeup. I wanted to desperatly cover up the deep bags under my eyes.

Here are a few tricks to help reduce them!

Spill the tea:

Just kidding! Instead of spilling all that tea, use them on your eyes. I use caffinated tea because the caffine in the tea acts as an antioxidant which will make your blood flow eaiser.

Cold compresses:

Its no secret that cold compresses help those bags, its an age old trick. I use two frozen spoons and put them under my eyes until they are no longer cold anymore.

Water water water:

What more needs to be said? Stay hydrated!

Elevation:

Stay elevated during your sleep. This will make sure that fluid doesnt flow under your eyes.

Get sleep:

I know its hard to do, but try and schdule work and classes as well as your time so that you get at least 8 hours of sleep.

Thats it for todays blogs!

Charlotte Russe Prime in your step Primer Review

Hello my lovlies! Welcome back to our blog, Winter time is here, meaning basically christmas, and all the other winter holidays are here!

Comment down below if you love winter holidays.

So, when does Christine not have a funny story? NEVER!

Since moving to Texas i’ve discovered that there is a Charlotte Russe in my local mall. I dont even think there was a Charlotte Russe in Washington so im really loving it. Although i was surprised that Charlotte Russe carried makeup products, when i think of that clothing store i think of clothing. As i said i was very surprised to find a decent amount of makeup products. Who would have thunk that i would find a product such as this in a place like Charlotte Russe.

I decided to get this primer for the simple reason that i had run out of my wet n wild primer, and Texas is hot, so why not test this primer out.

Instead of being in a squeezy bottle like most primers tend to be, this primer was a spray which i found really unqiue beause most of the primers i’ve had have been squeeze bottles or pumps. I was a bit hesitant at first, it being a primer from Charlotte Russe i didnt expect the best from it.

I was pleasantly surprised by how well this primer actually worked. Now it wasnt the worlds best primer let me tell you that, but it did its job. I found nothing wrong with this primer at all. It primed my skin as it said it would.

If i had to nit-pick i would say the only thing i didnt like about this primer was the fact that it was kinda dewy when applied, although it didnt give my makeup a dewy look, but when rubbing it into my skin it felt dewy.

Thats it for today’s blog!

A month in Texas, Life update

Hello my lovlies! Today i am NOT doing a beauty blog. I know that is quiet a big shock, but as many of you know i recently moved to Texas. Since thats such a big change in my life i thought i would write a life update for y’all.

Week 1:

I arrived in Texas on Thursday the 16th of August. I arrived pretty late at night so i pretty much got shown my room and went to sleep. The morning after i arrived my aunt and uncle showed me around the town we now live in. I was really expecting the weather to be a lot hotter than it was. I mean it was 101 F, but there was a breeze so i didnt really notice the heat all that much. That night we went to a BBQ resturant. I dont tend to eat a lot of meat, but i thought that since im in Texas, why not try some ribs. The hardest say was the fourth day, i realized how much i miss my sister. I was also extremely stressed about school and being un employed. There was a lot of anxiety and home sickness that day, but the day after i applied for about fifty jobs in the area, thanfully i heard back from a company and got hired as key manager. Now another worry came through, how am i going to get to work? Its almost an hour walk, and Texas showers are brutal when they happen, not to mention the heat can be unforgivable at times. My uncle and i decided to look for a moped, since commuting to school and work are both very short distances, and its a very good way of transportation. I will be getting this PINK moped on sunday the 26th of August. I am so extremly excited to start driving this super cute moped, and to be working with such an amazing company. Although my stay in Texas started out stressful and a lot more scary than i thought, so far, after a week of being here it has taken a turn for the best. All i need to do is gain residency so that i can attend college for a lot cheaper. Which adds slightly more stresses, but not nearly as much as it did before i had a job! I forgot! My first Saturday in Texas, we went to Waco to visit Magnolia Farms. I absolutley love the show “Fixer Uppers” So getting to be there in person and see everything they made got me so excited. I also got to visit Baylor University which i would like to attend after community college!

Week 2:

My second week in Texas was just as good as the first week. My homesickness wasnt nearly as bad as the first week either. I can now sleep without crying myself to sleep, although i dont tend to fall asleep till two am… but thats because im watching Gilmore Girls until i fall asleep. Last week i mentioned a Pink moped for getting to and from school and work, unfortunatly there wa some false advertising and i couldnt get the moped. They had booked the price up way out of the buget i had set, so instead i got a pink bike… thats close enough right? Not to mention a heck of a lot cheaper. At first i was a bit bumbed about not getting the moped. I was so ready for a pink moped and riding around town like Barbie, but i think in the end it was the smarter decision to go with the bike. Like i said it is cheaper to ride a bike, theres no gas, no monthly insurance, and all the expanses than come with a car or moped. So for a broke college student like me, i think its a good deal. Not to mention its good exersie. My current plan is to just save up money for school (duh) and a moped. I wont be using the moped forever, but when i do get the money for it, it will be a lot faster getting from place to place. Then later on, maybe in a year or by the end of this school year, once i have school paid for and steady money coming in i’ll look into a car, but for now its my good all pink bike, and then my hopefully pink moped. I’m also super excited to be starting my job on September 3rd! Im also excited to make actual friends, knowing i’ll make some at work. Since im not in school for this semester and im not really able to get out much its been hard making friends. I think thats another bump i’ve discovered. I’m seeing all my friends move off to college and make friends instantly, and here i am spending my day with a toddler and infant. As much as i love kids, living with them 24/7 and being with them 24/7 inst as fun as getting to be with friends. So the fact that i’ll be going to work with girls my age, and become their friend really makes me happy. Thats one thing i really really dont want to happen here, is me not having at least a small circle of friends. So long as i dont have to spend all day every day with young children, i will be good. I love my cousins dont get me wrong, but the youngest is at the age where she is almost walking and getting into everything, so you cant really turn your back for more than a second. The oldest is in his terrible two’s stage, so theres some type of melt down happening hourly. It is pretty stressful. I have two sisters of my own who are both younger than me, and being in the same house as them never seemed so bad. Not to mention i practically raised my youngest sister, so i didnt think it would be so hard.. but it is. I think its because both children are so close in age. My middle sister was like six when my youngest sister was born, so they werent terribly close in age. Props to you moms out there having children close in age, and still survive.

Week 3:

My third week in Texas was a huge sucess. I started my new job as a key holder for a shop in the local outlet. I was nervous at first because with my previous job i didnt have the responsibilites of a manager, but by the time i got there i realized that most of what i had to know was self explanitory, or knowladge i already had from my previous job. I will admit biking in the middle of the day in the Texas heat was hard at first, but after a few days i got used to it. Biking at night though…Thats the scary part. I just not like biking in the dark around a lot of trees. Not only could someone easily hide in the shadows, but i’ve realized that there are many animals and bugs here that can kill you, animals and bugs that can also hide in the shadows. Back in Washinton i never really carried mace or pepper spray with me, but after moving here, and being alone so much during the night i feel that it is probably best to do. I am also really happy to have finally met some friends. Most of the girls i now work with are my age, so its nice to finally talk and hang out with girls my age.

A few months update:

Well due to this title, and when this is being posted, a lot has happened. Obviously life got busy since i stopped at 3 weeks. No i did not move, its just other things required my attention, and i put blogging on the back burner. I left off updating you all on my new job, lets just say that although it started out really well, it quickly went down hill. I started noticing after the first week they were trying to set me up to fail, if i did something wrong they didnt really try and help me or teach me how to fix whatever i did wrong, i had to figure it out on my own which i found difficult concidering i’ve never had a mangment position before so everything was new to me. I was also trained by teenage girls, so it wasnt very in depth. I studied the products well and quickly started to be able to sell a lot of product to customers. Since i started our store was begining to do really well, which made me feel very good since i was making so much progress. The rest of the girls didnt find that too good and got intimidated i feel because it began to get to the point where they would tell my higher up lies to try and get me fired. Eventually after working there for a little more than i month i left. At that pint i had been living in Texas for three months. Im still at the three month mark. Luckily i was raised with the saying “always have a plan B” so i had another job lined up. The day after i quit i had a job interview, and began my first day a week later. That is October 23rd 2018, i am writing the rest of this blog as of the 24th of October. Its been kinda hard, i’ll be real with you. I thought since i made friends easily in school, making friends outside of school would be easy, but the girls at my previous job here were obviously only my friend till i became better than them, and since i’ve only been working at this new store for two days now, its hard to tell if these girls will become friends, like friends that i will hang out with outside of work, or just simply work friends. Its been a hard few weeks when it comes to that. After quitting my old job i realized how lonley i was. My day consisted of waking up, going to work, going to home and then going to bed. Every day. It kept me busy enough that i thought i was fine, but that week i didnt work, i would stay home most of the time. I love my family dont get me wrong, but its hard when your 1 year old cousin and your 3 year old cousin become your only friends that you see phyically and hang out with. I know people in this state, but i hardly hang out with them. Im thankful for my orchestra friends from high school though, we text daily and try and video chat at least once a week. Thats really been keeping me going through this rather difficult time. Texas has been getting better, i definitley like it here, and i believe that as for friend making it will become easier once i start school here in Febuary. As i have said in previous blogs i believe everyone is a princess…Including myself, and as a princess i have to keep my chin held high so that my tiara doesnt fall.

Sorry for such a delay.

November Beauty Favorites!

Hello guys! Welcome back to our blog. Today I want to share with you my November favorites, and there is quite a few!

Makeup:

Physician’s Formula The Healthy Lip liquid lipstick in berry healthy – This is a beautiful berry/mauve shade! What I love to do with this is dot a little bit on the center of my lips and then smudge it out with my finger for a matte lip tint!

Physicians Formula butter highlighter in pearl – My skin always looks so dry and dull in the winter, and this has been my favorite highlighter to use, I use it every day. It has a beautiful formula and a lovely glow.

Urban Decay Comfort Matte Vice lipstick in Backtalk – I love this as a lipstick, but this past month I have been using it as a cream blush and I think it is gorgeous! Can someone tell me if Urban Decay makes this as a blush? Because I will buy it!

NYX Micro Brow pencil in Taupe – This has been my go to brow product. It is impossible to mess up with this pencil, my brows always look filled in and feathery, like real hair. I enjoy the definition it gives and it’s easy to use. Continue reading “November Beauty Favorites!”

Tips for Dry Skin

Hello my loves! As December rolls upon us i thought i would delight you guys with some tips and tricks for dry skin. As i have mentioned before in previous blogs, i have suffered from dry hair, oily hair and dry and oily skin throughout my life. So i understand how hard the struggle is.

Here are some things that i did to help my dry skin feel less bothersome.

I found that after taking showers often times made my skin feel worse afterwards. You would think that all you have to do is put on some lotion. FALSE! There are times when not even lotion would help.

Don’t take long showers:

I know how relaxing a good long 30min shower can feel after a long day, but having your skin in the water for that long really isnt good for your skin. Try and limit your showers to 5-10 min when you do take them.

Don’t use hot water:

As i said before, theres nothing better than jumping into a nice hot shower, but once again it wont be helping your dry skin AT ALL. Try using warm water instead of scorching hot water.

Go gentle and fragrance free:

Its no myth that soaps and washes with fragrance in them will dry out any skin type. I always used soaps that had no fragrance in them such as soaps with shea butter in them really do help.

Dry your skin by dabbing:

When getting out of the shower most people are very rough with their skin when using a towel. This roughness will only make your dry skin worse. Be sure that your extremly gentle when drying your skin, make sure you gentle dab your skin dry.

Apply moisturizer immediatly after shower:

This will trap moisture and help with your dry skin. Also seeing a doctor about your dry skin. They will be able to give you special creams that will work to improve your skin.

Wear gloves:

By wearing gloves, espically during the fall and winter, you reduce the risk of your skin getting all raw. I also wear gloves while doing the dishes, which helps because then my hands are not getting all wet.

Laundry:

When you go shopping for laundry detergent make sure you get gentle detergent and fragrance free ones. I find that my dry and irritated skin gets worse if i use detergents that arent gentle or have a lot of fragrance in them.

Add moisture in the air:

I highly recommend purchasing a humidifier. This aids moisture into your room and all around your house so that your skin doesnt dry out as easily.

Thats it for todays blog!
