5 Minute Makeup Routine for Everyday

Hello everyone! Welcome back to our blog. Today I wanted to share the quick 5 minute makeup routine that I’ve been doing before I leave for classes or if I get ready in a hurry.

Step 1:

I use a hydrating primer to give my skin a little bit of a boost. My favorite is the Becca first light primer, it gives you bright and pretty skin!

Step 2:

Concealer! I always have dark circles and getting rid of them makes me look much more put together. I use the Dr. Hauschka cover stick concealer and just blend it in with my finger quickly. I always use the ELF tone correcting powder to set my concealer just so it doesn’t crease. Continue reading “5 Minute Makeup Routine for Everyday”

Beauty Empties: September and October

Hello and welcome back to our blog! Today I want to share my beauty empties from the last couple months with you all:

Makeup:

Sadly we’ve only got one makeup empty for the last two months!

Juice Beauty Stem Cellular CC cream – This is almost finished, and it has gone bad! It is a lovely light foundation for everyday, and I love that it is spf 30. I’ve already repurchased.

Skincare:

Vapour Beauty clarity cleansing oil – I love this cleansing oil, it is so lightweight and it really works to get your makeup off. It is gentle and doesn’t sting my eyes. I have already repurchased!

Acure the Magical Wonderfluff moisturizer – This moisturizer was really light but hydrating. I did enjoy using it but I am not very loyal to a certain moisturizer and I’m ready to try something else.

Sonage Patagonia Berry Stem Cell Mask – I loved this face mask! It was incredibly nice, and it really made a difference in my skin. However, this is $48 dollars so I would not repurchase!

Acure Purifying Fruit Peel – I loved this fruit peel. It really gives you new skin after you use it. This makes my face so soft and it feels very balanced, not dry or irritated. It does seem pretty strong so I would be wary if you have sensitive skin, but it worked lovely on my skin! I will buy the full size.

No 7 Glow Activating Serum – This was a great light hydrating serum. Unfortunately, it is not the type of feel that I want, it feels gel-like and I prefer my serums to feel oily so I would not repurchase, but if you have an oilier skin type you might like this!

Bodycare:

Weleda Almond sensitive skin body wash – This was an average bodywash, but it is a little pricy though! I wouldn’t repurchase!

Aesop Rind Concentrate Body Butter – This was a good lotion but it is very heavily fragranced with orange. It was way too much for me, wouldn’t repurchase!

Haircare:

I never use up haircare so I’m happy to have moved out some of this!

Giovanni 2chic Avocado and Olive oil Ultra Moist Shampoo – I did like this shampoo, but it isn’t the most gentle one I could find. I am going to try something else instead!

Giovanni 2 chic Avocado and Olive Oil leave-in conditioning and styling elixir – This is a lovely leave in conditioner and styler, it really defines my curls and moisturizes them. I enjoy what it does for my hair and I repurchased!

Aveda Rosemary Mint Shampoo – This shampoo was a little harsh on my curls, it did get all the buildup out of my hair but it also made my curls frizz so I would not buy the full size!

Aveda Rosemary Mint conditioner – This was a very watery conditioner and it did a lovely job, but it doesn’t work as well as my MOP conditioner so I will pass on it!

That is it for my empties! I’m sorry for being absent for a bit, Christine has been doing a great job holding down the fort for the last couple weeks. I hope you guys enjoyed this post and I will see you soon!

Airspun loose face powder review

Hello my lovlies! Im back with another beauty blog…duh! It would be a little weird if i was doing a video game review or something…

Today i will be review Airspun loose face powder. I’ve heard so much about this face powder that i’ve wanted to try it out for so long. The only issue i had was no matter where i looked, i couldnt find this powder anywhere. I searched high and low in every drug store with no luck. Next i searched Target and found nothing there.

Then the day came, the faitful day where i would find the much awaited Airspun loose face powder. I had to get some shots for college at my local walgreens, now here is a little fact about me…your girl HATES shots. The mere thought of getting a shot, or being around a needle terrifies me so bad. Usually i have my mom come with me, and yes im a nineteen girl and i still need my mom to come with me when i get shots. BUT THIS TIME SHE SAID SHE WOULDNT COME WITH ME…brat…Just kidding i love my mom and i understood how i needed to grow up. ANYWAY, before getting the shots, to relieve some anxiety, i decided to walk around the store. And somehow i came upon the cosmetic section…its really funny how thats the first thing i came across. Being the beauty holic i am, i looked around the beauty section, and then i found it, the loose powder that i have been trying to find for years. It was $9 and SUCH A STEAL.

Airspun Loose Face Powder:

Details:

  • Round continer
  • Holes to help filter out powder
  • Orange lip with some time of flower (?) on it
  • Little puff applicator

Pros:

  • Smells AMAZING, very soft sent, like baby powder
  • Very easy application, if you apply with a beauty blender you wont make a big mess
  • Long lasting
  • gives finished look

Cons:

none

All in all i give this product a 10/10 because i really feel this product gives your concealor and under eye area a creasless look, which im totally for. I also am a huge fan of the smell. For some weird reason it reminds me of a new born baby, which i totally 100% love. Im a huge fan of vintage things, and i guess you could consider this product vintage because it was made in 1935. I know i know the product that im using wasnt made in 1935, but the company was, which i really find interesting, because with other vintage companies like Revlon, Maybelline, and L’Oreal they are well known. Most people have heard of these brands, and its because of how well known their brands are that their name has survived so long, but the fact that this brand isnt very well known, and it is still surviving is truly amazing to me.

Thats it for todays blog!

If you a havent, comment down below if you love that new born baby smell!

Fall Hairstyles that I’m in Love with 2018

Hello my lovelies! Its OCTOBERRRR!!!! Can i can a woot woot?! I love October, i love fall fashion and i feel like October is just the peak of fall fashion. I also realized how little i’ve posted on hair. I always say that our blog isn’t just about the makeup side of beauty, but all the sides beauty. Hair care/styles being one of them.

Recently i’ve cut my hair, and as much as i miss my lush beautiful long hair, cutting it made me realize how many different hairstyles there are.

Blunt Curls:

Stunning hairstyles women spring trends 2018 (1)

I positively love this hair style for fall. I think it would go perfectly with a large plaid scarf, black leggings and some hunter boots or just brown riding boots. I love how this can work with any hair color and any outfit. You can dress these curls up or down.

Flat middle part:

90th Annual Academy Awards - Arrivals

I love how this falt middle part can be so elegant and so simple. I also love how this hairstyle can work for both short and long hair!

Curtain bangs:

image

I have lately, over this past year grown a huge obession with bangs, espesically these curtain bangs. I love how these can be worn down, in braids, a bun. You have so much to work with when it comes to bangs. Although they are hard to manage at times (trust me i have them) I think that when pulled off correctly, it makes a perfect fall look.

Low messy bun:

Now im a huge Meghan fan, and anything she wears both clothing and hair is just beautiful, but i love how elegant this low hanging messy bun! This can be worn with anything! And when it comest to fall and winter, do we really want to put any effort into our hair?

Crown braid:

Now you’all should know how much i love braids. I love how you can do and go literally anywhere with them. My favorite would have to be the dutch crown braid. I think its a perfect fall look!

Angeled bob:

image

Not to be mistaken with the blunt curls, this angeld “I havent straightend my hair” look is so beautiful! Perfect for the fall with short hair!

Well my lovelies, thats its for todays blog!

September Beauty Favorites!

Hello guys! Welcome back to our blog, today I want to share with you my favorites from September! Lets get into it:

Makeup:

Babo Lip Tint SPF 15 Conditioner –

This lip balm has a little bit of pink tint and it has been perfect for everyday. I can quickly apply it before class and look put together, plus it is really moisturizing! It lasts a while on the lips and makes them look so healthy.

Morphe 12 NB palette –

This has been my go to eyeshadow palette lately! The warm toned looks are beautiful for this end of summer-autumn phase. These shadows blend easily, and they don’t crease on me (even without a primer) for hours!

Tarte Gifted Mascara + NYX Worth The Hype Mascara –

I have really enjoyed layering these two mascaras! The combo gives me beautiful, long and volumized  lashes with definition. I love to put down the NYX one first as a lengthening base, and then go in with the Tarte for volume. I also love to put the Tarte mascara on my lower lashes, it makes them look lovely!

Skincare:

Derma-E Hydrating Night Cream –

This has been a lifesaver for me the past couple of weeks. My skin had an absolute freak out because of my move to Cali for college. It went oily and then incredibly dry. This cream is super hydrating but it is fairly lightweight and has worked well through both skin types. Highly recommend this if you need a new night cream!

Acure Seriously Glowing Facial Serum –

This serum was much too heavy for my skin back home, but now it works amazingly for me. This is the only thing that has been able to help balance out my dry skin. It is amazingly hydrating, thick and heavy. I absolutely love it because it makes my skin glow by the morning.

Sonage Remedy Relief Balancing Mask –

I love the way this makes my skin feel after, it really zaps clogged pores and it helped balance out my oily skin. Even now that my skin has turned dry it still makes my face feel nice. It is an incredibly rejuvenating mask!

That’s it for my September favorites! I hope you guys enjoyed, let me know what you’ve been loving down in the comments below, I would love to know!

NYX Matte Bronzer

Hello my lovlies! Im here with another beauty blog…Duh!

Today i will be reviewing NYX’s Matte Bronzer. I’ve heard a lot of good things about this bronzer, and having never used a bronzer before in my life i thought why not try this one!

This bronzer was around $9 ( 7p ), and i got this one at my local Target, but im sure you can find it at any store that has a beauty section. If youc cant find NYX in any of your stores, im sure you can find this bronzer on NYX’s website.

I will be completely honest, i have no idea how on earth to use bronzer, its definitley something i need way way more practice on.

I will start out by saying, i think i got too dark of a shade, because when i apply it to my face it looks like i’ve applied mud on. Im researching ways to lighten bronzer without buying a lighter shade. If you know any ways feel free to comment that down below.

Matte Bronzer:

Description:

  • Round black container
  • Mirror located on top lid
  • Compacted powder

Pros:

  • Mirror inside makes it easier to see what youre doing
  • you only need a little and it ges a long way
  • As described, it give a matte look when finished
  • long lasting

Cons:

  • Too dark for me, but that isnt a problem with the product, its my own error

All in all i feel like if i had a lighter shade, and knew how to use it better, i would enjoy this product even more. Right now its too dark for me to use a daily, or at all. If youre new to bronzer like i am, i suggest buying the shade you think you are, and then the shade lighter than that. Just it case you make the same mistake as i do! I dont think i can rate this product since my human error was so large, but i if it was more my shade i definitly would enjoy this bronzer a lot

Thats it for todays blog, hope you enjoyed!

Maybelline Great Lash Mascara

Hello my lovlies! im here with another beauty blog….duh!

Today i will be reviewing Maybelline’s Great Lash Mascara. I dont know why i feel like mascara is like a necessity in my daily life because i have extremly long eyelashes. No joke im pretty sure im related to a camel. Im also an extremely emotional person, so having water proof mascara is a MUST in my book. One of my biggest peeves about mascara is when you think its waterproof and its NOT! And then being the emotional person you are, cry and have it ruin the makeup that you spent hours on, a face full of like $80 bucks washed away by your tears, which makes you cry even more. Another peeve of mine is clumby mascara. So while looking for a mascara those are the two things i look for, waterproof-ness and no clumbing.

The previous mascara i was using was an LA Color mascara that i think was like a dollar or two ( you get what you pay for). I did not like that mascara what so ever. It wasnt waterproof..it wasnt even air proof, the slightest bit of movment would smudge the mascara, and by the end of the day i looked like a crazy alcoholic on crack cocaine. Another thing i didnt like about my old mascara was it was ALL clumb. On top of looking like an alcoholic, i also looked like a spider began living on my eyes. Needless to say, i was in dire need of a new mascara.

My mother uses Maybelline Great Lash Mascara all the time, and i always admire how it looks on her, so i decided why not give it a try?

So that i did!

Great Lash Mascara:

Description:

  • Pink tube
  • Green cap
  • Spiral brush
  • Normal sized

Pros:

  • Thin product
  • Waterproof
  • No clumbs
  • Long Lasting
  • natural look

Cons:

  • So thin that you need to apply multiple layers
  • Smudges slightly

All in all i give this product a 9/10 because i truly didnt find any problems with this product. My biggest problem was that it didnt apply very much product, so when wanting a more dramatic look youll have to apply two or three layers. But if you want a natural everyday look ( which i tend to lean toward) this product is perfect. I understand why my mom repurchases this product so much.

Thats it for todays blog!

Photo Focus Mat Fin setting spray

Hello my lovlies! im back with another beauty blog…duh!

Hopefully you guys arent getting sick of the wet n wild reviews because boy do i have a lot more coming! Lately ive been really liking this brand. I like how affordable these products are, and how most of them are pretty good quality. Now i know i used to say that about E.l.f when Hailey and i first started our blogs, but in my opinion Wet n Wild is a higher quality than most of the E.l.f makeup products.

Way back in the early days of the blog i did a review on E.l.f’s liquid setting spray. After that bottle had emptied, i didnt buy any more setting sprays because i didnt find the use in them at the time. We used to live in a colder state so makeup sweating off wasnt a big worry, the biggest worry for makeup users in out state was it being rained off! Now that live in a hotter state i have now realized the importance of setting spray.

Photofocus Mat Fin Setting Spray:

like i mentioned before, and if you couldnt tell from the lable. This is a wet n wild product. i bought this before i moved because i thought that i might need it due to the hot Texas weather. Boy was i right, this setting spray really comes in handy when the weather is 106 F ( 41 C ) and you want to look cute and put together.

Discription:

This product has a matte plastic container that has a black see through lid. The bottle is fairly small and there are numbers on the lid. I can only assume that the numbers are the lid are only for decoration because i have found no actual purpose for them otherwise.

Pros:

  • Small and travel size, easy to pack around in a purse for re application
  • Dries fast
  • Partnered with the Matte primer of this same colection it helps keep your makeup on for a majoirty of the day

Cons:

  • Smells like chemicals which makes me worry about what im putting on my face.
  • Does not give a “Mat Fin” look, i hardly see any difference in the look of my makeup
  • Wetness of spray makes mascara run, would recommend putting mascara on after for a cleaner look

All in all i would give this product a rating of 7/10. I really liked how this product helped my makeup last longer, but i didnt like how it didnt give a matte finish whats so ever. At first i thought it was because i wasnt applying a lot of product, but even when i drenched myself in the spray, once it dried i still didnt get the matte look. I think that was my biggest displeasure of this product was the false advertizsng, it has the same affect as a normal setting spray, which im totally okay with!

L.A Colors Brand Review

Hello lovelies! Back again with a blog. Like me recent Elf blog, I feel LA colors is a hit or miss. Some products are great for your buck, while others are instant throw aways.

I’ll start off with the…

L.A Colors eyebrow gel:

Now I usually use a pencil to do my brows, but I wanted to try something new and use a gel. I was interested to find out that this product didn’t really have a gel feel to it, it was more like an eyebrow pencil but it a small little jar opposed to a stick. For coverage I give this a 10/10 because it really does fill in your brows and it really does stay which I like a lot.

L.A Colors Auto Eyeliner:

I got this retractable eyeliner because I thought it would be nice to line my under lid with on days where I go for a darker makeup look, or nights out. Continue reading “L.A Colors Brand Review”

NYX Brand Review

Hello my lovelies! Lately we have been doing a lot of NYX reviews, but that’s just because NYX is awesome!

I cannot believe that it’s almost September! Almost chia tea latte season! I may not be a full white girl, but your girl loves her some chia tea latte in the fall, especially where Hailey and I used to live, a chia tea latte definitely warmed you up. Now that I’m in Texas I think I’m really going to miss a true fall season, but at the same I’m excited to not be so darn cold until August comes around again.

Ah! Now back to the review!

A few months ago I had a big NYX haul, the first of which was:

NYX Shimmery orange lipstick:

I bought this lipstick because I wanted to try getting out of my comfort zone. I often stick to non bright colors (until recently) so I would stick with reds and other more typical colors of lipstick. I was a bit worried to by this because I tried finding a non shimmery lipstick that was orange, having shimmer in it made this lipstick more out of my comfort zone

I’m happy to say that I actually liked the shimmer on the lips, it adds and nice touch to it and I really like this shade of orange! The last isn’t very long unfortunately, I had to re-apply it like every hour, other than that I really enjoyed this lipstick, definitely a keep!

Lingerie NYX:
