January Beauty Favorites!

Hello guys! Welcome back to our blog. Today I’m going to share with you my January favorites and I have quite a few makeup and skincare items that I’m loving so let’s get into it:

Makeup:

Milani Retouch and Erase concealer – This concealer has been my favorite! It is light, it has a nice texture and doesn’t crease under my eyes. It sets well with powder and gives good medium coverage.

Bobbi Brown Desert Pink Blush – This deep pinky rose blush (It is the blush on the right side in this photo) was something that I used with all my warm toned looks this month. It made my skin look luminous and naturally flushed. I love Bobbi brown blushes and I wish they were cruelty free!

NYX Pigment Primer – This eye base is so nice and it keeps my shadows creaseless. I also find that my shadows are easy to blend over this base and that it keeps pigments/glitter on my lids and not all over my face.

Tips for Dry Skin

Hello my loves! As December rolls upon us i thought i would delight you guys with some tips and tricks for dry skin. As i have mentioned before in previous blogs, i have suffered from dry hair, oily hair and dry and oily skin throughout my life. So i understand how hard the struggle is.

Here are some things that i did to help my dry skin feel less bothersome.

I found that after taking showers often times made my skin feel worse afterwards. You would think that all you have to do is put on some lotion. FALSE! There are times when not even lotion would help.

Don’t take long showers:

I know how relaxing a good long 30min shower can feel after a long day, but having your skin in the water for that long really isnt good for your skin. Try and limit your showers to 5-10 min when you do take them.

Don’t use hot water:

As i said before, theres nothing better than jumping into a nice hot shower, but once again it wont be helping your dry skin AT ALL. Try using warm water instead of scorching hot water.

Go gentle and fragrance free:

Its no myth that soaps and washes with fragrance in them will dry out any skin type. I always used soaps that had no fragrance in them such as soaps with shea butter in them really do help.

Dry your skin by dabbing:

When getting out of the shower most people are very rough with their skin when using a towel. This roughness will only make your dry skin worse. Be sure that your extremly gentle when drying your skin, make sure you gentle dab your skin dry.

Apply moisturizer immediatly after shower:

This will trap moisture and help with your dry skin. Also seeing a doctor about your dry skin. They will be able to give you special creams that will work to improve your skin.

Wear gloves:

By wearing gloves, espically during the fall and winter, you reduce the risk of your skin getting all raw. I also wear gloves while doing the dishes, which helps because then my hands are not getting all wet.

Laundry:

When you go shopping for laundry detergent make sure you get gentle detergent and fragrance free ones. I find that my dry and irritated skin gets worse if i use detergents that arent gentle or have a lot of fragrance in them.

Add moisture in the air:

I highly recommend purchasing a humidifier. This aids moisture into your room and all around your house so that your skin doesnt dry out as easily.

Thats it for todays blog!

Maybelline Great Lash Mascara

Hello my lovlies! im here with another beauty blog….duh!

Today i will be reviewing Maybelline’s Great Lash Mascara. I dont know why i feel like mascara is like a necessity in my daily life because i have extremly long eyelashes. No joke im pretty sure im related to a camel. Im also an extremely emotional person, so having water proof mascara is a MUST in my book. One of my biggest peeves about mascara is when you think its waterproof and its NOT! And then being the emotional person you are, cry and have it ruin the makeup that you spent hours on, a face full of like $80 bucks washed away by your tears, which makes you cry even more. Another peeve of mine is clumby mascara. So while looking for a mascara those are the two things i look for, waterproof-ness and no clumbing.

The previous mascara i was using was an LA Color mascara that i think was like a dollar or two ( you get what you pay for). I did not like that mascara what so ever. It wasnt waterproof..it wasnt even air proof, the slightest bit of movment would smudge the mascara, and by the end of the day i looked like a crazy alcoholic on crack cocaine. Another thing i didnt like about my old mascara was it was ALL clumb. On top of looking like an alcoholic, i also looked like a spider began living on my eyes. Needless to say, i was in dire need of a new mascara.

My mother uses Maybelline Great Lash Mascara all the time, and i always admire how it looks on her, so i decided why not give it a try?

So that i did!

Great Lash Mascara:

Description:

  • Pink tube
  • Green cap
  • Spiral brush
  • Normal sized

Pros:

  • Thin product
  • Waterproof
  • No clumbs
  • Long Lasting
  • natural look

Cons:

  • So thin that you need to apply multiple layers
  • Smudges slightly

All in all i give this product a 9/10 because i truly didnt find any problems with this product. My biggest problem was that it didnt apply very much product, so when wanting a more dramatic look youll have to apply two or three layers. But if you want a natural everyday look ( which i tend to lean toward) this product is perfect. I understand why my mom repurchases this product so much.

Thats it for todays blog!

3 Products I’ve Changed My Mind About

Hello everyone and welcome back to our blog! Today I wanted to share with you some products that I’ve changed my mind about! Let’s get into it:

Vapour beauty illuminator in shade Halo

I didn’t enjoy this highlighter at all at first because the formula was kind of dry. I felt like it moved around my foundation and was too glittery. I have since figured out how to work with it and I enjoy it a lot more now if I just pat it very gently on with my fingertip and use a small amount. When you apply it right it can look very shiny and gorgeous!

Butter London Bloody Brilliant Lippy Crayons in shades Teddy Boy and Ruby Murray

These lip crayons were a couple that I absolutely use to love when I first got them, but now they don’t do much for me. The formula is super moisturizing and glossy and the nude shade I have really looks pretty on the lips. When I got the red shade, I realized I have issues with the formula. These lip crayons  get absolutely everywhere, they go outside the lip line, they settle into the cracks of your lips and I love the finish but they just don’t wear well at all.

Becca cream eyeliner in the shade Neo Classic

This cream eyeliner is one that I didn’t use to enjoy at all, but now I really love it. The formula is very lightweight and airy, it feels nice and goes onto the lid or your waterline smoothly. At first I didn’t like the color of this or the glitter, but now I’m really into it. It is super fun for a night out or a cool concert look or something like that. I really do want to get this liner in the black shade, but I am loving this shade much more than I used to!

That’s it for 3 products that I changed my mind about! Have any of you recently stopped enjoying using a product, or found out a way to make something work for you, let me know in the comments down below!

L.A Colors Brand Review

Hello lovelies! Back again with a blog. Like me recent Elf blog, I feel LA colors is a hit or miss. Some products are great for your buck, while others are instant throw aways.

I’ll start off with the…

L.A Colors eyebrow gel:

Now I usually use a pencil to do my brows, but I wanted to try something new and use a gel. I was interested to find out that this product didn’t really have a gel feel to it, it was more like an eyebrow pencil but it a small little jar opposed to a stick. For coverage I give this a 10/10 because it really does fill in your brows and it really does stay which I like a lot.

L.A Colors Auto Eyeliner:

I got this retractable eyeliner because I thought it would be nice to line my under lid with on days where I go for a darker makeup look, or nights out. Continue reading “L.A Colors Brand Review”

NYX Worth The Hype Mascara Review

Hello everyone! Welcome back to our blog, today’s post is going to be a review on the NYX worth the hype mascara!

Lets get into it:

Overview:

  • Price: $7.99
  • Cruelty free!

Promise:

Easy to apply and comfortable to wear, the clump-free mascara features a specially designed brush that coats and separates individual lashes for ultimate impact and definition. Expect fuller, longer looking lashes with a long-wearing finish. (Product details from the NYX website!)

Overall, I really love this mascara! It gives you natural looking, very fluttery and separated lashes. The brush does define each lash nicely, and it doesn’t get nearly as clumpy as other mascaras that I have tried. This mascara does wear all day, so it definitely lives up to what it says it will do, and it is easy to remove at the end of the day also.

Reviewing New Mascaras to my Collection!

Hello guys! Welcome back to our blog. I’ve been buying new mascara a lot lately, and I want to share mini reviews on the ones that I picked up telling you guys what I love and what I don’t love!

1. NYX worth the hype mascara

So I’ve discovered a holy grail. I have only had this for two weeks, but I cannot stop using this mascara! It gives you long, black and fluttery lashes. Not a ton of volume, so if you love volume you probably will find this mascara disappointing, but personally I love the natural and defined lash look that this gives. It lasts all day, it is easy to remove, your lashes will not get clumpy, and I just can’t stop using it.

2. Tarte Gifted mascara

This mascara is a meh one for me. I really liked the wear time and the volume it gave me, but with two coats it did make my lashes kind of clumpy. The formula is kind of on the drier side, and it takes a while to coat your lashes. Overall I think that it is good, but Continue reading “Reviewing New Mascaras to my Collection!”

Favorite Drugstore Lipsticks!

Hello love bugs!

Now you know how your girl love her some drug store makeup! Here is a little mini review on some new lipsticks I got!

Nyx liquid suede

Now I lost this one just recently and I’m so upset! I really love this lipstick. It gives the perfect matte finish and it’s so long lasting!

Nyx lingerie

This one I love love love! I tend to lean more toward the red shades when it comes to lipsticks, but this is my favorite non red shade of lipstick I have! I love the thick matte finish, but it doesn’t feel thick against your lips! My only advice it to put on lip balm before application, once it dries it tends to flake off, lip balm keeps it smooth all day.

Liquid catsuit

Like I said before. I love red shades. I’ve never had a super bright red lipstick so I was super excited to get this. Unfortunately after I put it on it began to crust and flake, so I didn’t like it as much. I do now put on lip balm before hand, it does help, just not as much as I would like.

That’s it for today! What’s your favorite brand of lipstick?

April Ipsy bag! ðŸ¦‹

Hello my loves!

April is quickly coming to a close. Which means deciding on colleges is days away for Hailey and I. EEK!!

So naturally I’m writing this blog to distract myself from my future.

Who needs that stress?? Pfft not me!

I just want to start off by saying, I adore the design of April’s bag! The butterflies.. TOO CUTE!!

It gives a perfect spring time vibe, not to mention all the makeup I pulled out! I LOVE THEM ALLLLLL

Delectable (miracle material) ultra nourishing hand cream.

I am a violinist, who’s hands get grossly dry. So I am an avid lotion user. Some may even say an addict. Honestly ask Hailey, if she were to need lotion, I know I’m the first one she ask, because I always have some type of lotion on me at all times! So when I opened this I was so excited. I was worried at first because I thought it would smell like a minty toothpaste, luckily it only had a soft hidden scent of mint. The lotion also has coconut oil, shea butter and aloe oil in it, so I know my hands are definitely getting the nourishment they need! I love love love this!

My night time routine

Hello love bugs!

I remembered way back when our blog was little itty bitty fetus, I did a morning routine, so today I shall share my night time routine.

  1. Remove all makeup.

I remove my makeup using coconut oil, I find it really helps to remove my mascara. For a deeper cleanse I use rose water to remove all the excess dirt and makeup. I use a cotton ball until there’s no more makeup/dirt. After that I spray the Mario Badescu facial spray on and massage it into my skin. Once a week I will use a charcoal face mask before bed

2. Brush and braid hair

My hair has grown a lot longer since cutting it, and I find that if I have it down or up in a pony tail I wake up with the most horrific knots. So I brush through my hair about 100 times (50 each side) to make it soft, silky and knot free. Next I put a very little amount of rose oil onto my fingers and run it through my hair. This helps with shine, after this I braid my hair and call it good! I also find the rose oil helps my hair smell amazing the next morning when I take the braids out.

3. Brush teeth

Naturally I brush my teeth. I use baking soda and lemon juice first. I find it helps whiten my teeth as well as break down plaque and other gross stuff resting on your teeth! Next I use Tom’s mint toothpaste to brush my teeth. I really like how Tom’s has no fluoride in their products, it’s all natural!

4. Switch on my essential oil diffuser

I have a really hard time sleeping at night. With a little lavender oil in the air I find my sleeping has greatly improved! This especially helps after a long day of school and retail!

5. Put my mouth guard on and call it a night!

As a high stress person, I grind my teeth at night. This causes a lot of pain in my jaw the next morning, so I use my night guard to stop myself from grinding, after that I go to sleep.

That’s it for my nighttime routine! What do you do?
