My Bullet Journal Setup for June!

Hello guys! Welcome back to our blog! Today’s post is a little bit different, not beauty related. I want to share something I have done the past couple of months that has really made me much happier. This is a peek inside my bullet journal setup for June. Some of you guys requested this so I hope you enjoy this post!

On Instagram, everyone has such artsy colorful bullet journals and I just am not that artsy and I can’t draw and I wanted it to be more functional and to serve as a daily journal for me and as a non-academic planner for my hobbies and my life. I want to share it with you guys because I love it, and to put an example of a ‘not perfect’ journal out there.

So these are all the little spreads that I do for each month.

Page one is a title page:

This just says June 2019 and one of my favorite quotes that inspires me to  take care of myself. If you are like me and can’t draw this is a cute option for your cover spread!

Page two has a little calendar and four weekly to do lists:

On the calendar I circle the days that I have track meets, events, vacations etc like the big things for this month that I need to not forget! I then have four big boxes that are my ‘weekly to do lists’ where I put adult stuff like ‘refill prescription’, ‘make doctor appointment’ etc. It really keeps me organized and I will forget anything I don’t write down. Life Update: First Year of College!

Hello guys! Welcome back to our blog! Unfortunately, neither of us have been able to blog lately, but now that it is summer we are back! I recently just finished my first year of college and I wanted to share how I felt about it:

First semester life update: here!

*My first semester was lovely, I truly enjoyed it! If you haven’t read that post then it might make sense to read it first before this one!*

My second semester of college started in mid-January and it ended just last week after finals. This semester I felt like I had a better handle on my coursework and that I could take on some side projects, I also felt like I was happier, I was less lonely, less homesick and like I was finally starting to make a lot of good friends.

My grades are still good, the classes I am taking are so interesting, and I love what I’m studying. I always make sure that schoolwork is my first priority, I want to keep my good gpa, and I am proud of myself for the work that I did this semester.

As you guys know, I also run cross country and track for my college! Continue reading “Life Update: First Year of College!”

Day In My Life: College Athlete, Student + Blogger

Hey guys! Welcome back to our blog. I thought it would be fun to share some more personal stuff on here. This is a little day in my life blog of what I do on Mondays since that is the day I’m writing this (but this post has been in my drafts for ages!)

Last semester I did cross country, this semester, (spring semester) is when track and field starts!

5:15 am – I wake up, eat something and head to the locker room, all of the girls on the team and I chill out in there and stretch before practice.

6:00 am – Practice starts! (it’s a real struggle for me, I’m a night owl and I would prefer to run at midnight than get up at 5.) We do different workouts depending on the day, Mondays are our easy days. Today’s workout was a 7 mile progression run, it wasn’t ‘easy’ but it is easier than our workout days.

8:00 am – Done with practice! Tuesdays and Thursdays we do weights from 8:00-9:00, but since it is not required on Mondays, I skip it in favor of eating breakfast.

9:00 am – I shower and get ready for my first class at 11:00 am. I usually also squeeze in a few minutes of liking people’s Instagram photos and blog posts before class!

OOTD:

Christine is definitely the girlier one of us, she’s always wearing dresses and heels, but I’ll stay comfy in my leggings and sneakers over here!

11:00 am – My first class is a seminar called Music as Protest, basically we just learn about how music has been used throughout history to spark social revolutions and I actually love it, it is super interesting.

12:30 pm – Time for lunch! I never skip any meals, I eat about as much as small horse. While I eat, I always am on Instagram or WordPress or something. Basically I fit in blogging whenever I can during my day, otherwise I’d have no time for it!

After that I have a break until my second class, so I usually do my homework for that class right now. On Mondays in particular I always plan out my week with my planner, that is the only way that I won’t forget to turn in assignments I swear. Highly recommend that you use a planner if you don’t already!

3:30 pm – I go to my second class (honestly my game plan for succeeding at college is to show up to all the classes and turn everything in on time, it hasn’t failed me so far!) This class is called Music of the World’s people and it is a music history class based around the traditions of a lot of different cultures.

5:00 – 9:00 pm – Then I relax and finish up any other homework I have. This is the time when I write posts, practice piano, be with friends etc. And I eat dinner of course! This is also when I work on my work stuff, I manage 2 artists at my college and I do transcription work for one of my professors so I try to squeeze that in when I get time.

9:00 pm – I start getting ready for bed around now, doing my skincare (my skincare routine is here) and brushing my teeth, the usual. I also roll out and stretch in the evenings (that helps me stay un-injured since I run roughly 40 miles a week during the season). Then I aim to go to bed by 10 so I can do it all over again tomorrow.

(Needless to say, I do absolutely nothing on the weekends unless I truly have to, I don’t know how some people are this busy all the time. I need like, two full days of sleeping in order to stay on top of my week)

Anyway thank you guys for reading! That was my daily routine, I don’t know if it contained any tips for helping you guys manage your time, but I hope so!

Makeup

Estee Lauder Perfectly Clean

Hello lovlies! Welcome back to yet another fantastic blog! Once again if you noticed this was published blank a few dys ago, it was because i completely forgot to write up this blog. I had it drafted and never copied and pasted it before the publish date. Im sorry!

Now i got this Estee Lauder perfectly clean makeup remover when i first moved the Texas in the summer of 2018. I was fresh out of makeup remover and wanted to try out something new. While wandering around the outlet mall for job and makeup remover i found this. Its a travel size bottle, so i figured i would use this while my usual makeup remover was being shipped out to me.

Now on the Estee Lauder website, it claims that this product is a Triple-Action Cleanser/Toner/Makeup Remover. It promises to cleanse, tone and remove makeup.

Now i will go in order of what it promises.

Cleanser:

When you use this product, the pump will pump out a foam, similar to those foaming hand sanitizers. This made me a bit skeptical because it came out so light, i was unsure as to how well it would work. I was a bit disapointed when i used this to clean my face off and i didnt really feel cleansed. I didnt feel fresh or anything. Then again i wasnt surprised. The foam was so light. I will say i used this both in the morning before appying makeup and then at night after/ for removing makeup to see if perhaps using this product in the morning would change how i felt about it, and unfortunatley it didnt.

Toner:

For Toner i usually use Pixi or Witch Hazel (lavender or rose) which really work for me. Once again i was very disapointed when this product didnt tone my face whatsoever. So far it was two strikes out and i was begining to feel like i lucked out. On top of it not toning my skin, it also left it a bit oily feeling which i didnt like at all. Especially when the website said that it would actually take away any oily feeling.

Makeup remover:

As state above, the main reason i bought this product was to remove makeup, so i had my fingers crossed that at least it would do that. It seemed from the surface to remove my makeup. There was a bit of eyeliner still on my eye lids, but other than that it looked to be all gone. Just to make sure, i used the last of my makeup wipes to make sure everything was off and was shocked to see that there was still resedue of makeup on my skin. It didnt clean it all off, only the surface which isnt going to be good for your skin if you dont clean all that makeup off your skin!

So three strikes and it was out. I was so bummed that this didnt work. I would also like to add that there was definitley perfumes in this, and i did react with my sensitve skin a bit, so if any of you out there wanted to also give it a try and have sensitive skin do watch out please!

This product retails at $29 online, but i got it for like $15. Either way i do believe for me it was a waste of money.

Thats it for todays blog!

Sweet Almond Oil shower gel

Hello my lovlies! I want to start this blog with an apology. The last two blogs for me have been deleted because life has been very very busy and i forgot to draft them before they got published. So if you have been following Hailey and i for awhile now and noticed that a few of my blogs have been deleted thats why.

Im perfectly fine, theres a blog going in depth about whats going on in a life update coming soon!

Onto the blog my ladies!

Now i suffer from very sensitve skin like you wouldnt believe. When it comes to clothing and soaps they pretty much have to be all natural and cleaned with speical non scented soaps and all that. Lately i’ve been really liking Crabtree & Evelyn’s Sweet Almond Oil Bath and Shower Gel.

If you’ve ever baked before, and used almond excract, thats EXACTLY what it smells like, but….Just like almond excract….do not taste it…becasue it doesnt taste as good as it smells.

Nails

Essie nail polish

Hello my lovlies! I do enjoy making my horizons wider with this beauty blog. If it isnt obvious by the picture in today’s blog, i will be reviewing the nail side of the beauty world.

Now i always loved painting my nails, as a child i loved how i could express my colorful self through nail polish. It also meant bonding time with my mother which i always loved .

As i began my musical carrier i sort of shifted away from nail polish, it seemed every time i painted my nails, the second i brought out my violin they would chip. And then as i got into middle school and high school i realized i have zero patinces to sit and wait for nail polish to dry!

On the special moments that i do paint my nails Essie is always my favorite brand of nail polish. I love the wide variety of colors that they have. Not to mention the layer dry relatively fast.

And as many of you have probably realized over the years, i really really love the color pink. Out of all the pink Essie shades this one is my favorite. I love how it isnt like a hot hot pink, its a pink that can go with a lot of my outfits, its very natural looking, not a bold color that draws attention to me. Also blush pink is one of my favorite shades of pink in the world. At first i didnt like how the consistancy was so thin, one of the things that makes painting my nails such a bother is when i have to sit and do layers. I dont know if its just me, but when i paint my nails i want to be done as soon as humanly possible. In my opinion thicker consistancies of nail polish tend to take less time. Sure it takes a bit longer to dry, but at least i dont have to sit for hours on end waiting for each layer to dry. After using Essie for a few years now i’ve grown to actually liking the thinner nail polishes. My impatient self has learned that good things come those who wait.

Overall, i really do like this nail polish, and the Essie brand in general!

Comment down below if you like the Essie brand, and what do you think about it!

Life Update: First Semester of College!

Hello guys! Welcome back to our blog. Today is going to be a more personal post so I hope you are along for the ride! Grab a snack because I don’t know how long it will be. We will return to our regularly scheduled beauty blog programming in a couple of days.

I go to a college in California, at my dream school! I am majoring in Music industry studies, so I’m learning about the music business. I’m so excited to graduate and be an artist manager, or a social media marketing person for an artist, I’m not sure what the job title is.

Anyway, I moved into my dorm in mid-August of this year, my roommate is lovely and she and I are good friends. I’m happy to report that I had no roommate horror stories, which is great because we will be rooming for the next semester as well.

My dorm was so fun to decorate! it is all cute and Pinterest-y. I enjoyed creating my own space, all the wall art is from Marshalls and I love it.

I also joined the cross country team! I love all the girls on the team and I had a great time getting to know them. I was the only freshman but I had so much fun! I wish I could show you my uniform but it has my school name on it and I’d like to keep that private.

We run 6k races and we practice every weekday morning at 6 am, which I struggled with a little, not gonna lie. We did weights on Monday and Wednesday, and then a pool workout on Thursday. I am incredibly in shape right now and I love it!

My classes are not super difficult, they are based a lot on meeting industry people, so I’ve been able to manage my classwork with sports. I’m chasing down a social media marketing internship as well, so fingers crossed!

I am also in a rock band, and frequently write songs with a couple of composing friends so that is awesome! I enjoy being creative in my free time, I’ve been really busy with new projects so it has been preventing me from blogging!

I was able to make friends, I have several good guy friends, and a few good girl friends! Of course I still miss my high school orchestra cross country friends, Christine and I face time every couple of weeks if we can. I wasn’t homesick, but I did feel a little lonely during the semester so that was the only part that wasn’t the best, I just missed being around familiar people. Other than that I really enjoyed my college experience and I’m excited to go back for next semester!

Max Studio Liquid Lipstick

Hello my lovlies! If you guys have been keeping up with our blog, you know that Hailey and i love us some Marshalls makeup. Going to Marhsalls was one of my favorite things to do with Haily becuase her and i would pick apart the makeup/beauty section till there was nothing left! Anything with Hailey is a joy, its also just fun to talk about our lovely followers, and you better believe her and i talk about you all non-stop!

Today i will be reviewing Max Studio’s liquid lipstick. I found this lipstick at Marshalls while Hailey was helping me find shoes for graduation. Its funny because i told myself i was only there to get shoes and help Hailey pick out makeup or shoes if she needed it. Naturally i have no self control and bought this lipstick…want to know my reasoning? “Christine, you need this lipstick because you dont have lipsticks.” If you have seen any of our post, a majority of mine are lipsticks. I have a huge addiction to lipsticks its kinda scary. But hey, more content for our blogs right?

Max Studio Liquid Lipstick:

Description:

  • redish pink shade
  • plastic tube
  • cushioned applicator
  • long gold cap to hold

Pros:

  • smooth application

Life Update – High School Graduation, College, Our Pets etc.

Hello our loves! This is a super chatty post, so grab your popcorn ‘cuz this will be a dense one!

Okay, lets start off with our high school graduation!

We will be graduating high school in two weeks. For the both of us, it hasn’t really set in that our high school career will be at an end. We met our freshman year, so this will be bitter sweet. The two of us have already gotten our caps and gowns, as well as our graduation dresses. When we got our caps and gowns, we thought finally it would sink in that we’re graduating, but it hasn’t. We both feel so ready to be out, yet at the same time we aren’t ready to leave.

Both of us are going to college next fall, but it was tough to make the decision of which schools we wanted to attend out of all that we had applied to!

Hailey: I was stuck between a school in Boston and one in California for the longest time. The college in Boston was the best in the world for what I was studying, but I didn’t like the people or campus as much as the California, and it was hard to let that opportunity of such a good program go even if I knew it wasn’t a good fit for me. It made me so stressed, but I didn’t realize until I had picked the California how much it had been affecting me. That was one of the reasons why Christine took over so much in April, I just was not able to blog from the nerves of picking a school.

Christine: Choosing the college that i am attending to caused me a lot of stress too. In one hand I had my family, who were very set upon me going to the school of their choice, and in the other I had Continue reading “Life Update – High School Graduation, College, Our Pets etc.”
