Anastasia Matte Lipstick Set Review + Swatches

Hello guys! Welcome back to our blog. Today I want to review for you the Anastasia Matte lipsticks that I’ve tried in this set and I actually really enjoy. This post will include swatches of all four as well.

Overview:

  • This kit is discontinued I believe, but I found mine at Marshalls for $14
  • cruelty free!
  • Contains four mini lipsticks in varying shades of pink from Anastasia’s matte lipstick line.
  • Orchid, Cotton Candy, Stargazer, Plumeria are the shades included and they are all available in the full size.

Promise: Anastasia Beverly Hills Matte Lipsticks are full pigment lip color with a smooth, ultra-matte finish. (From the Anastasia Website)

These definitely have an ultra matte finish, they look like you’ve applied a super matte liquid lip, but they are not nearly as drying. My only complaint with these is that this formula is not super creamy and smooth, it almost feels like you’re applying a powder/cream lipstick, it won’t glide across your lips cleanly. With a little bit of patience you can build them up to a gorgeous gorgeous matte finish though. They are comfortable, not drying at all and they are pretty long wearing. Essie nail polish

Hello my lovlies! I do enjoy making my horizons wider with this beauty blog. If it isnt obvious by the picture in today’s blog, i will be reviewing the nail side of the beauty world.

Now i always loved painting my nails, as a child i loved how i could express my colorful self through nail polish. It also meant bonding time with my mother which i always loved .

As i began my musical carrier i sort of shifted away from nail polish, it seemed every time i painted my nails, the second i brought out my violin they would chip. And then as i got into middle school and high school i realized i have zero patinces to sit and wait for nail polish to dry!

On the special moments that i do paint my nails Essie is always my favorite brand of nail polish. I love the wide variety of colors that they have. Not to mention the layer dry relatively fast.

And as many of you have probably realized over the years, i really really love the color pink. Out of all the pink Essie shades this one is my favorite. I love how it isnt like a hot hot pink, its a pink that can go with a lot of my outfits, its very natural looking, not a bold color that draws attention to me. Also blush pink is one of my favorite shades of pink in the world. At first i didnt like how the consistancy was so thin, one of the things that makes painting my nails such a bother is when i have to sit and do layers. I dont know if its just me, but when i paint my nails i want to be done as soon as humanly possible. In my opinion thicker consistancies of nail polish tend to take less time. Sure it takes a bit longer to dry, but at least i dont have to sit for hours on end waiting for each layer to dry. After using Essie for a few years now i’ve grown to actually liking the thinner nail polishes. My impatient self has learned that good things come those who wait.

Overall, i really do like this nail polish, and the Essie brand in general!

Comment down below if you like the Essie brand, and what do you think about it!

Top 5 Drugstore Makeup Products

Hello guys! Welcome back to our blog, today I’m sharing my favorite affordable makeup products with you!

1. NYX butter lip glosses in Tiramisu and Angel Food Cake

These are so good! They are lovely and moisturizing. They aren’t super lightweight, but they aren’t really thick or heavy either. The color payoff is nice, and to top it off they are super affordable and have an amazing color selection.

2. Physicians Formula Butter Highlighter in Pearl

The formula on these is technically a powder, but if you touch these they are almost like a cream. They apply best with just your fingers or a dense brush, a fan brush or loosely packed one won’t pick up much product. The sheen is super shimmery and a bit glittery!

3. ELF tone correcting powder in cool

Urban Decay Cream Finish Vice Lipstick Review

Hello guys! Welcome back to our blog, today I’m going to review another lipstick that I got for christmas, the Urban Decay Vice Lipstick in Naked which is part of their cream formula.

Overview:

  • Price: $17
  • Cruelty free!
  • 100 shades of these Vice Lipsticks are available!

Promise: This creamy formula is packed with nourishing ingredients. A butter blend comforts, hydrates, and enhances, leaving lips soft and conditioned, and never dry. Aloe vera, jojoba, avocado, and babassu oils nourish and soften lips. (From Sephora’s site!)

I do have to say I love this formula! If you are after a moisturizing, basic, everyday sort of cream lipstick like I am, then I think you would like this as well. It is nourishing, not drying at all, so it definitely lives up to that part of its promise. Continue reading “Urban Decay Cream Finish Vice Lipstick Review”

Wet and Wild Liquid Catsuit Lipstick Review

Hello you guys and welcome back to our blog! A couple weeks ago I picked up these gorgeous liquid lipsticks from wet n wild, and I do have some final thoughts on the formula that I’d like to share with you!

If you want to see the haul post click here, otherwise lets jump right in!

Overview:

  • Cruelty free!
  • price: $4.99 (so cheap!)

Promise:

Made with glammed out superpowers, it goes on glossy yet transforms into a high-pigmented matte finish with some serious staying power. (ulta’s website!)

I got two shades from this range, rebel rose (a gorgeous pinky mauve) and Give me Mocha (a stunning dark grungy brown). Since I did pick up two shades I decided to compare them to each other.

So, the two do have some differences, which means that the line isn’t fully consistent. Rebel Rose has a more lightweight smooth formula with intense pigmentation and is matte almost right away, an absolutely fricking winnner! Give me mocha is a bit patchy, thinner and dries slower. With two coats it is opaque, and these do layer beautifully so after I did that with give me mocha I had no problems.

NYX Butter Gloss Review

Hello guys! I recently bought a couple of new NYX lip products and one of them was this butter gloss!

It turns out I actually have been really loving the formula so here is my final thoughts on it:

(From the NYX website)

Each glossy color delivers sheer to medium coverage that melts onto your lips and is never sticky, leaving your lips soft, supple and kissable.

NYX Lip Lingerie Lipstick Review

Hello everyone! Welcome back to our blog! I got this product a little while ago and I know there are millions of reviews on these lipsticks already but I wanted to share my take on it!

Promise: weightless liquid lipstick with a plush matte finish! (from NYX website)

img_4020

Overview:

  • Cruelty free!
  • Will be a long wearing liquid lipstick
  • Price: $6.99 (bargain!)
  • dries matte

This lipstick has quickly become one of my favorites and for me definitely lives up to the hype that it gets! The formula is really lightweight and whipped which I enjoy because I like the feeling of nothing on my lips. It dries down fairly quick, definitely in less than a minute. The end result is transferproof, it doesn’t come off if you touch it and for me this works even better than the Too Faced Melted Mattes in that department. the applicator is really nice as well. In a lot of ways this reminds me of the tartiest matte lip paints, those being just a little more lightweight. These are so amazing for the price! The lasting power is about 4 hours with an even fade. This does not emphasize lip lines on my lips personally which I really enjoy.

I got the shade Bedtime Flirt which might be the best nude ever for fair skin!

Here is the applicator:

Swatch:

Pros and Cons:

Pros:

  • transferproof
  • looks matte but not one-dimensional
  • gorgeous shade selection
  • light and more whipped formula
  • nice applicator which made it easy to apply
  • no emphasizing of my lip lines
  • nice amount of product
  • not drying on the lips

Cons:

  • Lasting power was not as long as I’d expected
  • A second coat will cause stickiness so try not to touch up unless you need to

That is all I have for you guys today! I hope you enjoyed my review and I know many of you must have tried this out for yourselves so let me know how your experience went down in the comments!

5 Favorite Lipsticks for Spring

Hello everyone! It’s finally starting to warm up, and I’m very excited that it will officially be spring in a few weeks! Today I’m going to show you my favorite lipsticks/glosses for this time of year, I’m excited to wear all of these and finally not be freezing cold anymore!

1. Milani coral crush lip gloss

This is a beautiful subtle coral gloss which I love because it is super creamy and not sticky at all. This is perfect for a sheer wash of color that is natural looking and is the perfect place to start if you want to start with coral lipstick!

2.Milani lipstick in hot pink rage

This is a bright fuschia pink which I think would look amazing almost everyone. This is wearable but yet still fun, and has a matte finish. I’ve been pairing this with simple brown eyeshadow for a fresh-faced look.

3. Butter London Lippy liquid lipstick in tickled pink

Another gloss! This is super baby pink, but I love it because it is flattering and has good color payoff. Again, it isn’t sticky, but is pretty long wearing for a gloss and I absolutely love this shade!

4. LancĂ´me lipstick in The New Pink

This is stunning! I’ve been wearing this almost every day. It has a foiled/sheen finish and is a really warm pink. It looks so flattering and stunning on fair skin and isn’t too much, it would be a perfect nudey/pink on tan or darker skin and I love this formula.

5. too faced lipstick in Mean Girls

This is kind of out there! The name is completely accurate, it is a metallic hot pink that surprisingly looks great on the lips. It’s creamy, not gritty, longwearing  and also has great color payoff so I definitely recommend this!

Swatch party!

Happy spring everyone! I hope you enjoyed this post and thank you so much for reading! leave me a comment down below telling me your favorite bright/springy lipstick, I would love to try out some of your guys’s recommendations. For this month we will only be posting on Mondays and Thursdays again since we are both becoming super busy! Hope you guys don’t mind!

Milani Color Statement Lipstick Review

Hello everyone and welcome back to our blog! I hope all of you guys are doing well! Today I’m going to review these Milani color statement lipsticks I got in the beginning of january. Milani and their lip products especially have been slaying on YouTube and all around WordPress so I was super excited to give these a go.

The promise: vitamin a and c infused lipsticks that feel as good on the lips as they look! (Milani website)

Price point: drugstore! (around six dollars)

I have been wearing the bright pink super often. Both have a matte finish which I like, they are so comfortable. Both of them have equal levels of pigmentation so the color statement line is fairly consistent! These do not feather or bleed out of the lip line which is a definite bonus and they are pretty long wearing!
