Top 5 Favorite Drugstore Makeup Products

Hey guys! Welcome back to our blog. I’ve done this post before, so consider this a part 2. I’m here to share 5 more makeup products from the drugstore that I absolutely love. Let’s  jump into it.

1. NYX Control Freak brow gel

I’ve already used up a tube of this and am on my second one. This is a great medium hold brow gel that keeps my brows in place all day, and really sets the color in place too. I can always trust that my brows will look just as good at the end of the day as they do when I first apply my makeup, and it is so cheap, I love it.

2. Milani Retouch and Erase Concealer

This concealer has been my go-to! It was featured in my favorites last month, and I almost use it everyday. It is so hard to find a concealer that doesn’t crease on me, but this one doesn’t crease and it gives good coverage, and it is lightweight. I prefer this over my Urban Decay Naked concealer!

3. NYX Micro Brow Pencil in Taupe

This brow pencil is my absolute favorite! It is so easy to work with, I’m sure you guys have heard me talk about it before, I just love it. It has the best consistency and the best color selection. I always find that my brows come out well when I use this pencil and I highly recommend it.

4. LA colors High Shine Shea Butter lip gloss

This clear gloss goes over all my liquid lipsticks, I also wear it all the time by itself for my everyday look. It is so moisturizing and it is also so cheap that I cannot believe how amazing it is. I use this sometimes at night just as a lip balm and I have already repurchased it.

5. NYX pigment primer

This is the best pigment primer I’ve ever found, it also works great just as a regular eyeshadow primer since it goes on so smooth. I always use this when I wear glitter since it makes my shadows look so foiled and it prevents fallout.

That was it for my top 5 drugstore products at the moment. What have you been loving from the drugstore, let me know in the comments below!

Milani prime perfection face primer

Hello my lovlies! Welcome back to our blog! Milani seems to be very popular with Hailey and i lately. I can assure you we dont plan getting so many Milani products. They are just THAT good!

Now i know i’ve reviewed Milani in the past, and if i remeber correctly i didnt find much wrong with them.

This primer has been added to the list of must haves in my makeup bin. I really like how smooth this product is. A little dab of product goes a long way which i really like. Often times i find that primers and other makeup that come in tubes like these dont seem to last very long. So when i bought this product i was a bit worried i would have the same issue. Concidering this primer retails out to be $10 i really wanted to not have to continuosly buy this every few weeks.

I also found that this primer also smells like pink peppermint which i actually really liked. Usually i dont like the smell of anything peppermint, i think for me its just too strong, but i really liked it with this primer, it kind of soothed and cooled my skin which i felt was really cool! Im not really sure what the benefits of peppermint in your makeup would be, but i didnt find any hints of peppermint in the ingredients. What i did find though was Aloe Barbadensis Leaf Juice. After researching the benefits of that i found that this aloe leaf benefits all skin types which is really awesome for girls out there suffering from oily and dry skin. The Aloe Barbadensis Leaf especially helps out dry, damaged, broken, sensitive and irritated skin while also offering anti-inflammatory antioxidants that soothes your skin. Even better it also has anti-itch qualities! I know there have been a few primers that i’ve tried in the past that have made my skin itch after using it, but i do find that this one doesnt make me itch at all which makes putting on the rest of my makeup even easeir!

Now lets see how well their little bio on this product matches up to my experience…

According to the packaging this will add a radiant, healthy-looking glow to my complexion while also softening any fine lines, large pores and flaws. The Prime Perfection Hydrating + Pore Minimizing Face Primer blends invisibly and maintains the skin’s mositure balance, resulting in an illuminating and flawless finish.

Lets take this word for word. First it says that it will give me a radiant, healty looking glow. Does this primer do this for me?

The answer is yes it does. I tend to notice this more in the morning when im putting on my makeup on right after getting out of bed. Like most teenage collage students, when i wake up my face isnt bright and glowing like in the movies…I look like a child in the 1900’s who is suffering from influenza and may not live past the winter. So your girl really does need a little healthy looking glow in the morning.

Next Milani says that this primer will soften and fine lines, large pores and flaws. Does it do this for me?

My honest answer is not really…I was really hoping it would follow to its word for this, because your girls pores are large as heck and shes got flaws left and right. So a little assistance in that deparment is always nice. Unfortunatly I didnt find that this primer minimized any of my pores, nor did soften and flaws i had. I had to rely on my makeup to do that.

I will say though, when Milani said that to maintins moisture it really does do this. Unlike most primers i’ve used, this doesnt dry out my skin whatsoever, and keeps it mostuized throughout the day!

Thats it for todays blog!

Whats your favorite primer?

January Beauty Favorites!

Hello guys! Welcome back to our blog. Today I’m going to share with you my January favorites and I have quite a few makeup and skincare items that I’m loving so let’s get into it:

Makeup:

Milani Retouch and Erase concealer – This concealer has been my favorite! It is light, it has a nice texture and doesn’t crease under my eyes. It sets well with powder and gives good medium coverage.

Bobbi Brown Desert Pink Blush – This deep pinky rose blush (It is the blush on the right side in this photo) was something that I used with all my warm toned looks this month. It made my skin look luminous and naturally flushed. I love Bobbi brown blushes and I wish they were cruelty free!

NYX Pigment Primer – This eye base is so nice and it keeps my shadows creaseless. I also find that my shadows are easy to blend over this base and that it keeps pigments/glitter on my lids and not all over my face.

NYX Micro Brow Pencil Review

Hello guys! Welcome back to our blog! Today I want to share with you guys a cheap brow product that I actually really love, lets get into it.

Overview:

  • Price –  $10
  • Cruelty free
  • 8 different shades

Promises: Build full beautiful brows with our ultra-thin Micro Brow Pencil. So precise it coats even the finest hairs with color for a natural-looking finish. (From the NYX website)

Personally I have had a lot of success with this brow pencil. I hadn’t tried any before but this product was easy to use and it gave me nice results. Since the tip was so fine it was easy to shape my brows the way I wanted and the pencil was the right amount of creamy, but it wasn’t too soft. The color payoff was nice and I think that it lived up to everything that it said it would.

I’ve already used one of these completely up and have since repurchased. With near daily use it lasted me about two and a half months, which I am okay with. It doesn’t cost me a lot to replace and I don’t think I will be purchasing a different brow pencil any time soon, since this one is much cheaper than a higher end one. Hair Care Routine for Wavy-Curly Hair

Hello guys! I have wanted to do a haircare routine since we started this blog and I am finally going to do one! Today I’ll take you through washing my hair and then styling it so it air dries curly without frizz:

1. comb through your hair with a wide tooth comb, it makes a big difference!

2. 2chic Avocado and Olive Oil shampoo by Giovanni

After detangling, I shampoo. This is a really nice shampoo, very moisturizing and it gets rid of any product buildup on your scalp while still being gentle. It is also very affordable so I highly recommend this if you have curls or just dry hair in general.

(2.5.) Juice Organics Coconut Hair Mask

Once a week I use this hair mask! I absolutely love it, it leaves my hair so soft and silky and defrizzed. My hair strands are always dry until I use this mask. Highly recommend this for a cheap hair mask full of natural ingredients if you don’t want to DIY one!

3. Mop c-system conditioner

This conditioner is my absolute favorite. It is so rich and will leave your hair soft and silky. It moisturizes my curls and eliminates frizz, this is the one item I allow myself to splurge on for haircare! I apply this and let it sit for a few minutes. Then I rinse it out and get out of the shower!

3. Renpure Coconut Cream Curl Defining Cream

After I get out of the shower the first thing I do is wring my hair out, then I apply this to the ends of my hair and work my way up to my scalp, so that by the time I am at the top of my head there is very little product on my hands. This curl cream is so good and so affordable, you need it if you have curls. It makes your curls moisturized, defined and they bounce! This made a huge difference in my hair, it never gets frizzy and the curl definition lasts for a few days.

4. Giovanni Leave in conditioner and Styling elixir

After curl cream, I use a styling product. This is a super lightweight gel, it  gives extra moisture to your hair, and it also helps hold in any styling that you do. I scrunch my hair with a microfiber towel just to make the curls in my hair tighter, and this product keeps my curls the way I want them to look.

This is what my hair looks like after it dries!

Those are all the products I’ve been using in my haircare routine. I hope you guys enjoyed this post, it is a little bit different than I’ve ever shared before so I hope everyone liked it!

Charlotte Russe beauty blender trio

Hello my lovlies! Welcome back to our blog! Today i will be reviewing yet another Charlotte Russe makeup product. I got this along with all the other CR products i got. It was really nice too because i had been running out of beauty blenders, and i know you girls know how EXPANSIVE these little sponges are.

Side note time! I find it really interesting how trendy these little things are, and how darn EXPANSIVE these are. I mean for a little sponge that is meant to get dirty, i would never spend twenty plus bucks on these little suckers.

WHICH leads me into why i bought these. If i were to buy these each seperatley at ulta or any other store, i would most likely be spending eighty something bucks on something that is just gonna get moldy and dirty ( i love beauty blenders dont get me wrong, they are a life saver, but like real talk, they arent very hygenic!). So while i was shopping at Charlotte Russe and found a set of three for twelve bucks, i had to get them. It just so happened my beauty blender prior to these was on its last days, so unlike everything else i was buying, it was truly a nessecity.

Now i dont know about you guys, but to me beauty blenders are all different and unique in their own way. Some are super soft, while others are kinda rough and hard. I was very interested in seeing how these twelve dollar beauty blenders would feel. Now disclaimer, i literally use all my beauty blenders to blend in my foundation and concealor. So yes these are meant for different things, but i use them all for the same things.

Contour Blender:

This contour blender is kinda double sided which is very nice, i use this blender when i want to cover more area on my face (AKA when i’ve slept through my alarm and have 10min to get to work!). It works really well, the blend isnt spotty and it blends perfectly into your skin. The only thing i didnt like about this sponge is that the middle is actually rather thin, so when holding it the sponge kind of flops around a little. Its really hard to get a good grip with this.

Blend Blender:

First off, that was a lot of fun to type up, i laughed way harder than i should have! This is my primary beauty blender. What i really like about this sponge is that the tips on it are really thin, so when im working around my eyelids it really gets in there! The only thing i dont like about this blender is that its kinda is rough, so while im vigorusly pounding away at my face…It hurts a bit.

Perfect Blender:

Other than serving like a normal beauty blender, i really dont understand what the creators meant by “perfect”. Like once you’ve blended in your makup…other than like setting powder, theres nothing really to “perfect”. So i use this blender when my primary one the “Blender Blender” is being washed or im too lazy to clean it just yet. It works just as well and pretty much the same as the “Blender Blender”. The only difference is that the tip on this beauty blender isnt as fine as my primary one.

Well girlies! Thats it for todays blog! I hope you enjoyed.

Beauty Empties: November – December

Hey guys, welcome back to our blog! Today I want to share with you my beauty empties for the month of November and December.

Makeup:

Butter London Plush Rush lip gloss in Free-fall – This was a gorgeous gloss! For me these seem quite similar to Buxom’s formula, and I enjoy those glosses just a little more, so I wouldn’t rebuy this.

LA colors lip gloss in clear – This is the best thick and hydrating clear gloss. I always put it over liquid lipsticks and I miss it a ton! Definitely going to repurchase.

It cosmetics Hello Light Cream Highlighter – I used this up this year. I repurchased it already, I love it. It is the perfect cream highlight for everyday!

Dr.Hauschka stick corrector in shade 01 – I did like this concealer but the shade was way too pink for me. I like the formula but I think I can find something better. Wouldn’t repurchase!

EOS lip balm – EOS is not cruelty free so I would not repurchase! But I also don’t feel like this hydrates my lips much at all, so I wouldn’t recommend these balms.

NYX Worth the Hype Mascara – I love this mascara! I cannot wait to go repurchase it, I like the consistency and the effect it gives to my lashes.

NYX Microbrow pencil in taupe- This eyebrow pencil was lovely. I just ran out of it this morning and I am going to repurchase it today because (not to be dramatic here) I can’t live without it.

Skincare:

Burts Bees Facial Cleansing towelettes – These were really good makeup wipes! I mostly used them for swatches and I would definitely repurchase.

SheaMoisture Youth Infusing Mud Mask – This mud mask kind of dried out my skin, I’m not sure how I felt about it and I wouldn’t repurchase. Continue reading “Beauty Empties: November – December”
