Milani Make it last setting spray

Hello loves! Happy April, and Happy April fools. Nothing i can really trick you with, but i can grant you a small escape from all the trickery while you read this blog.

If you’ve been following along with our blogs you may have realized we have been reveiwing a lot of Milani products. Today will be another Milani review…If you couldnt tell by the title and picture above!

Since moving to Texas, i’ve began to really understand the importance setting spray can hold, espesially as it starts to get warmer. In Washington most of the time my face was so frozen im sure my makeup was just frozen on!

On a hunt for a setting spray that would hold my makup through biking to work and just the usual Texas heat i decided to give Milani a chance. Most Milani products that i’ve gotten havent let me down so i had high hopes for this winner.

So what does the Milani Make It Last Setting spray promise?

Lock in your makeup and keep that just applied look all day and into the night—no touchups needed! Make It Last Setting Spray primes, corrects and sets your look for up to 16 hours without a crease or smudge in sight, and prevents fading and shine. Spray under or over makeup, or wear on its own for a beautifully matte, flawless face.

Lets take this step by step…

Lock and applied look?

When it comes to keeping my makeup on i would have to say yes it really does. It also does keep my make up looking like i just applied it all day. Now i never really wear makeup for longer than like nine or ten hours, so i cant say if it last longer than sixteen, but it does last for the nine/ten that i do wear my makeup.

Primes/Correct/ Set?:

Now i’ve heard that you can use this product as a primer, although i personally haven’t tried it, so i cant speak for priming. Since i use this after i’ve applied my makeup i also can say if it corrects imperfections or not. What i can say is that it really does set my makeup. I will warn though, there is a very potent perfumy fragrance that you will smell when you apply this product. I have sensitive skin and i will say that this didnt really irritate my skin at all, but if you dont like products with strong fragrances then i would suggest maybe not using this product!

No creasing/smuudging?:

I can assure you that while having this on i hardly ever get creases, Its never really a problem i face without setting spray either. As for smudging it does help prevent smuding which i really like about this product because I CONSTANTLY RUB MY EYES! By the end of a nine hour shift i look like a fifty year old alcoholic! So i thank Milani from the bottom of my heart for creating a non smudge setting spray!

No fading or shine?:

When it comes to fading, i’ve been using this product for a few months now, and never once have i witnessed any fading throughout the day while wearing it. Because it is a matte spray there is also no shine which i also like because i feel like dewy sprays tend to make my face look a bit oily.

All in all i would have to rate this setting spray a four out of five. The only thing i didnt like about this product was the fact that the fragrance is so strong that sometimes its just a little too much. Other than that i really liked this product!

Thats it for todays blog! Whats your favorite setting spray?

Milani stay put matte liquid liner

Hello loves! Welcome back to our blog, thank you all for following along with us, Hailey and i are both extremely thankful for all of you!

Now as i stated in my previous blog, aside from lipsticks eyeliner is my other addiction. I will always enjoy trying to find which one i like best.

Many of you may have noticed that i’ve gotten a lot of Milani products latley, thats because i’ve had a lot of good Milani products in the past. Out of all of them, i’ve never tested out any of their eyeliners. I got this at my local drug store, and it retailed for about $8, on their website it is the same.

Now what does the Stay Put Matte 17hr Wear Liquid Eyeliner promise?

For eyes that turn heads, you need this quick-drying liquid-to-matte liner that delivers full color for up to 17 hours. An ultra thin felt tip applicator lets you create natural to bold looks with ease and controlled precision—in one single step. No need for constant mirror-checks—this formula is humidity and sweat-resistant. Choose from four richly pigmented matte shades. Shake well before using. Remove with an oil-based eye makeup remover.

Lets take this liquid eyeliner through the promise.

Was it quick drying?

As for that, yes it was which i really liked. The only thing i noticed with its quick dry is that after wearing it for a few hours it began to get crusty. Now i dont know if its because im using other brands primer, foundation and concelor or if thats just what happens after a few hours.

Was it full color?

Unlike the Almay eyeliner i just recently reviewed, this one was definitely matte which i really like. As i said above about the quick dry, the crustiness was my biggest problem with this product. Out of any eyeliner i’ve ever used, i would have to say that this is my favorite eyeliner when it comes to the full color.

Ultra thin tip?

I would have do say i didnt really notice how thin the tip was. When you remove the lid/ applicator there is a lot of product that builds up, so if the tip is thin i wouldnt notice. So that leads to the other question, does it help to create naural or bold looks? Natural maybe not, bold most definitely. As is said before theres a lot of product on the applicator, so personally for me it created more bold looks.

Mirror checks?

Because of the crusty dry, yes, i definitley made frequent mirror checks and i would constantly have to go to the restroom to re-apply.

Humidity & Sweat resistant?

Since i live in Texas now it is rather humid, espesically now that spring is upon us. I will say that as for humidity it didnt really affect the eyeliner any differently. I also bike to work, and prefer to do my makeup at home and not at work so i can assure you that biking and the sweat that creates doesnt affect the eyeliner either.

All in all i would probably give this eyeliner four out of five stars. I really liked this product, the only real issue was the crusty dry 😦

Thats it for todays blog, comment down below if you’ve treid this product before?

Almay brow pencil

Hello loves! Welcome back to our blog! Once again im here with another Almay product which i’m very excited to share with you.

I just recently started doing my brows (makeup wise) and im more of a natural looking brow look, nothing too dramatic. Let me tell you, this eyebrow pencil DELIVERS!

Lets start with what it promises.

One tool, three easy steps to perfect brows:

  • Define with pointed tip
  • Fill with flat edge
  • Tame with brush

As you can see from my picture above, it is one tool, which is really nice, i dont have to worry about loosing the spoolie brush (which happens to me a lot).

I also really like how the point is defined, the tip is slanted slightly which helps with that all natural look. I will say though the cream can be kind of soft at times, so i wouldn’t retract it up too far. IT WILL BREAK! If you dont retract if very far though it works perfectly.

The flat edge is probably my favorite part of this product, like is said above it really helps create that perfect natural brow.

Another win is the brush, the bristles really do tame my brows which i love because sometimes while im waiting for my brow appointment, the girls can get a little out of control. Having a brush that keeps the strays down and control is a huge help to the makeup routine.

When it comes to how i would rate this eyebrow pencil, i would rate it a 5 out of 5. I have no real issues with this product. I’ve actually re bought it 4 times already, each time it runs out i just have to get it again.

Thats it for todays blog! Whats your favorite eyebrow pencil?

Anastasia Matte Lipstick Set Review + Swatches

Hello guys! Welcome back to our blog. Today I want to review for you the Anastasia Matte lipsticks that I’ve tried in this set and I actually really enjoy. This post will include swatches of all four as well.

Overview:

  • This kit is discontinued I believe, but I found mine at Marshalls for $14
  • cruelty free!
  • Contains four mini lipsticks in varying shades of pink from Anastasia’s matte lipstick line.
  • Orchid, Cotton Candy, Stargazer, Plumeria are the shades included and they are all available in the full size.

Promise: Anastasia Beverly Hills Matte Lipsticks are full pigment lip color with a smooth, ultra-matte finish. (From the Anastasia Website)

These definitely have an ultra matte finish, they look like you’ve applied a super matte liquid lip, but they are not nearly as drying. My only complaint with these is that this formula is not super creamy and smooth, it almost feels like you’re applying a powder/cream lipstick, it won’t glide across your lips cleanly. With a little bit of patience you can build them up to a gorgeous gorgeous matte finish though. They are comfortable, not drying at all and they are pretty long wearing. Almay liquid liner in black

Hello loves!! Thank you for joining us for yet another fun blog! A quick thanks to all who have been following our blogs lately, and if youre new WELCOME we love you!

Now for those who have been following our blogs for awhile know that i have a slight obsession with lipsticks. Its such a problem! My second obsession though if definitley eyeliner. I am always on the hunt for the best eyeliner. One thats water proof, smudge proof and long lasting. And im always eager to try out brands that ive never heard of. ALMAY being one of them!

Now this retails for about $6 or $7 which is pretty affordable for an eyeliner. Now it doesnt look like you can purchase it from their website, but i do know you can get it at Walmart or Ulta!

Now what does this promise?

Get beautiful definition with this easy-to-use liquid eyeliner. Water-resistant formula lasts up to 16 hours without irritation. Unique “inkwell” design delivers fresh color every time. Flex-tip applicator provides mistake-proof control.

Thats what this eyeliner is supposed to do, now lets take it step by step.

Did it give me beautiful definition?

Fairly good, the tip was very fine which did make for a more precise application, but i will say it gave of a very liquidy consistancy even after shaking before using. It was kind of like if i were to use black water color as eyeliner, which i wasnt a huge fan of for wings. For a more natural look without wings it was okay.

Is it water resistant?

I will say i was shocked to find that it was water resistant. If i lay down, there is always one eye that gets really watery. I have no idea why, but laying down after doing my makeup is always risky because of it and i dont know how many times ive ruined my eyeliner by it. Thankfully when i used this product, although i dont like the water color looking wings it gave me, it did last through my leaky eyes.

16hr and no irritation?

I will say it lasted for about 9hrs, at least thats how long i was wearing the product for. I have no doubt that it would definitley have lasted longer if i had worn it. As for irritation it did make my eyes itch a bit when i drew one some wings, but if i didnt add wings there was no irritation.

Mistake proof control?

Ladies we’ve all been there before, those bad eyeliner days where the tip decides to like go crazy? So much for straight wings right?I will say that the tip is rather flexible and the times i have used this eyeliner, i have yet to muff anything up.

Now is it my favorite eyeliner in the whole entire world? No, it just personally isnt the type that i like. If it was a thicker/ darker more matte consistancy i think it would totally be a must have. Alas it is not, but i do like to use this product when im do lazy to go all out and want a more natural look.

Thats it for todays blog!

February Beauty Favorites!

Hi guys! Welcome back to our blog. I haven’t written a post in a little while and I’m so happy to be back. Today is the day when we talk about beauty favorites from the last month, so let’s jump into it.

Face Products:

Urban Decay Naked Skin Concealer in Fair

This concealer is something I’ve had for a long time but I was never able to make it work for me before this month. I apply just a little bit with my finger or a sponge underneath my eyes and on anywhere I want to spot conceal and it truly looks beautiful with sheer-medium coverage. Before I was using too much product and it kept going cakey and looked horrible under my eyes, but now I love this concealer!

Eye Products:

Smashbox Full Exposure mascara in Black

This mascara is so pretty on my lashes, it makes them look fake and so long. I love that this gives me a little bit of volume, black lashes, and makes them long. The brush is huge, so that is my only issue with it, but that does make sure that I get all my lashes coated. I love that this mascara keeps my lashes curled too!

Tartelette Matte eyeshadow palette

If you couldn’t tell, this was the month of discovering old things in my collection! I recently pulled this out and now I am obsessed with it. The shadows really work for me now and I enjoy them! My absolute favorite look is using the four purple toned shadows in the middle row, it is so pretty and compliments my brown eyes.

Butter London Glazen Eye Gloss in Icing

This is a stunning eyeshadow, it is a jelly so I usually apply a glitter glue (my favorite is the nyx pigment primer) and then I just pat it on with my fingertips, it is so stunning and glittery, and the formula doesn’t crease. This has been my go-to for a quick and low maintenance glittery eye look.

Lip Products

Urban Decay cream finish lipstick in Violate

This purple-pink cream lipstick pairs gorgeously with that warm toned purply eye look I have been doing a ton of. It is so pretty and the formula is so moisturizing and comfortable. I love using this as cream blush also, it is really pretty and I can’t get enough of using it!

Buxom Full On Lip Cream in Patricia

This is a gorgeous lip topper, it is pink and has shimmers that are white-gold and blue in it. Although that might sound tacky it is actually so pretty on its own, or over lipstick and you guys already know I love the Buxom gloss formula. It is a little bit cooling because it is a plumper but it makes your lips look really juicy and soft.

Those are my favorites for this month! I hope you guys enjoyed this post and I will see you all with a new one very soon. Let me know in the comments something you’ve been loving!

Beauty Empties: January + February

Hey guys! Welcome back to our blog. Today it is time to talk about empties! These are some of my favorite posts to write, so let’s get into it-

Makeup

Becca First Light Priming Filter

This primer is so pretty on the skin and it really does hydrate and give you a glow. It keeps my skin from feeling and looking dry under foundations. I’ve already repurchased!

Tarte Gifted Mascara

I wasn’t jazzed about this mascara in my original review, but it is gorgeous once it dries out a little. It is easy to work with, it is volumizing, it is super black, it doesn’t get everywhere throughout the day, I would repurchase!

Tarte Tartiest Mascara

I really enjoyed this mascara while I had it, but I don’t miss it at all. It makes your lashes really black, but sometimes can really clump them up. I don’t want to spend $20 on this mascara, so I won’t repurchase. Continue reading “Beauty Empties: January + February”

Estee Lauder Perfectly Clean

Hello lovlies! Welcome back to yet another fantastic blog! Once again if you noticed this was published blank a few dys ago, it was because i completely forgot to write up this blog. I had it drafted and never copied and pasted it before the publish date. Im sorry!

Now i got this Estee Lauder perfectly clean makeup remover when i first moved the Texas in the summer of 2018. I was fresh out of makeup remover and wanted to try out something new. While wandering around the outlet mall for job and makeup remover i found this. Its a travel size bottle, so i figured i would use this while my usual makeup remover was being shipped out to me.

Now on the Estee Lauder website, it claims that this product is a Triple-Action Cleanser/Toner/Makeup Remover. It promises to cleanse, tone and remove makeup.

Now i will go in order of what it promises.

Cleanser:

When you use this product, the pump will pump out a foam, similar to those foaming hand sanitizers. This made me a bit skeptical because it came out so light, i was unsure as to how well it would work. I was a bit disapointed when i used this to clean my face off and i didnt really feel cleansed. I didnt feel fresh or anything. Then again i wasnt surprised. The foam was so light. I will say i used this both in the morning before appying makeup and then at night after/ for removing makeup to see if perhaps using this product in the morning would change how i felt about it, and unfortunatley it didnt.

Toner:

For Toner i usually use Pixi or Witch Hazel (lavender or rose) which really work for me. Once again i was very disapointed when this product didnt tone my face whatsoever. So far it was two strikes out and i was begining to feel like i lucked out. On top of it not toning my skin, it also left it a bit oily feeling which i didnt like at all. Especially when the website said that it would actually take away any oily feeling.

Makeup remover:

As state above, the main reason i bought this product was to remove makeup, so i had my fingers crossed that at least it would do that. It seemed from the surface to remove my makeup. There was a bit of eyeliner still on my eye lids, but other than that it looked to be all gone. Just to make sure, i used the last of my makeup wipes to make sure everything was off and was shocked to see that there was still resedue of makeup on my skin. It didnt clean it all off, only the surface which isnt going to be good for your skin if you dont clean all that makeup off your skin!

So three strikes and it was out. I was so bummed that this didnt work. I would also like to add that there was definitley perfumes in this, and i did react with my sensitve skin a bit, so if any of you out there wanted to also give it a try and have sensitive skin do watch out please!

This product retails at $29 online, but i got it for like $15. Either way i do believe for me it was a waste of money.

Thats it for todays blog!

Top 5 Favorite Drugstore Makeup Products

Hey guys! Welcome back to our blog. I’ve done this post before, so consider this a part 2. I’m here to share 5 more makeup products from the drugstore that I absolutely love. Let’s  jump into it.

1. NYX Control Freak brow gel

I’ve already used up a tube of this and am on my second one. This is a great medium hold brow gel that keeps my brows in place all day, and really sets the color in place too. I can always trust that my brows will look just as good at the end of the day as they do when I first apply my makeup, and it is so cheap, I love it.

2. Milani Retouch and Erase Concealer

This concealer has been my go-to! It was featured in my favorites last month, and I almost use it everyday. It is so hard to find a concealer that doesn’t crease on me, but this one doesn’t crease and it gives good coverage, and it is lightweight. I prefer this over my Urban Decay Naked concealer!

3. NYX Micro Brow Pencil in Taupe

This brow pencil is my absolute favorite! It is so easy to work with, I’m sure you guys have heard me talk about it before, I just love it. It has the best consistency and the best color selection. I always find that my brows come out well when I use this pencil and I highly recommend it.

4. LA colors High Shine Shea Butter lip gloss

This clear gloss goes over all my liquid lipsticks, I also wear it all the time by itself for my everyday look. It is so moisturizing and it is also so cheap that I cannot believe how amazing it is. I use this sometimes at night just as a lip balm and I have already repurchased it.

5. NYX pigment primer

This is the best pigment primer I’ve ever found, it also works great just as a regular eyeshadow primer since it goes on so smooth. I always use this when I wear glitter since it makes my shadows look so foiled and it prevents fallout.

That was it for my top 5 drugstore products at the moment. What have you been loving from the drugstore, let me know in the comments below!

Milani prime perfection face primer

Hello my lovlies! Welcome back to our blog! Milani seems to be very popular with Hailey and i lately. I can assure you we dont plan getting so many Milani products. They are just THAT good!

Now i know i’ve reviewed Milani in the past, and if i remeber correctly i didnt find much wrong with them.

This primer has been added to the list of must haves in my makeup bin. I really like how smooth this product is. A little dab of product goes a long way which i really like. Often times i find that primers and other makeup that come in tubes like these dont seem to last very long. So when i bought this product i was a bit worried i would have the same issue. Concidering this primer retails out to be $10 i really wanted to not have to continuosly buy this every few weeks.

I also found that this primer also smells like pink peppermint which i actually really liked. Usually i dont like the smell of anything peppermint, i think for me its just too strong, but i really liked it with this primer, it kind of soothed and cooled my skin which i felt was really cool! Im not really sure what the benefits of peppermint in your makeup would be, but i didnt find any hints of peppermint in the ingredients. What i did find though was Aloe Barbadensis Leaf Juice. After researching the benefits of that i found that this aloe leaf benefits all skin types which is really awesome for girls out there suffering from oily and dry skin. The Aloe Barbadensis Leaf especially helps out dry, damaged, broken, sensitive and irritated skin while also offering anti-inflammatory antioxidants that soothes your skin. Even better it also has anti-itch qualities! I know there have been a few primers that i’ve tried in the past that have made my skin itch after using it, but i do find that this one doesnt make me itch at all which makes putting on the rest of my makeup even easeir!

Now lets see how well their little bio on this product matches up to my experience…

According to the packaging this will add a radiant, healthy-looking glow to my complexion while also softening any fine lines, large pores and flaws. The Prime Perfection Hydrating + Pore Minimizing Face Primer blends invisibly and maintains the skin’s mositure balance, resulting in an illuminating and flawless finish.

Lets take this word for word. First it says that it will give me a radiant, healty looking glow. Does this primer do this for me?

The answer is yes it does. I tend to notice this more in the morning when im putting on my makeup on right after getting out of bed. Like most teenage collage students, when i wake up my face isnt bright and glowing like in the movies…I look like a child in the 1900’s who is suffering from influenza and may not live past the winter. So your girl really does need a little healthy looking glow in the morning.

Image result for pale child painting

Comment down below if you look like this in the morning!

Next Milani says that this primer will soften and fine lines, large pores and flaws. Does it do this for me?

My honest answer is not really…I was really hoping it would follow to its word for this, because your girls pores are large as heck and shes got flaws left and right. So a little assistance in that deparment is always nice. Unfortunatly I didnt find that this primer minimized any of my pores, nor did soften and flaws i had. I had to rely on my makeup to do that.

I will say though, when Milani said that to maintins moisture it really does do this. Unlike most primers i’ve used, this doesnt dry out my skin whatsoever, and keeps it mostuized throughout the day!

Thats it for todays blog!

Whats your favorite primer?
