Current Skincare Routine for Dry Skin

Hello guys! Welcome back to our blog. Today I’m going to share my skincare with you, this routine has helped cure my dry patches and help me deal with my dry skin in the winter!

Step 1: Vapour beauty clarity cleansing oil

I always use this to take off my makeup, it is a good oil cleanser and it has been working for me. It is quite pricy so I am trying to find a comparable one from the drugstore!

Step 2: Juice Beauty Exfoliating Cleanser

This is a great skincare product, my skin feels gorgeous and soft after I use it. It is a gentle enough exfoliator, at least for my skin, to use everyday. So I do use it everyday as my face wash, and it is so moisturizing and really nice.

Step 3: The Body Shop hydrating toner Continue reading “Current Skincare Routine for Dry Skin”

Tips for Oily Skin

Hello my lovlies! Today i will be doing another beauty blog…DUH! It would be weird if i wasnt, after all our blog name is BEAUTYholics.

After writing me Acne skincare routine blog, i began to realize that when i comes to your skin, people suffer many problems. Some people get really bad acne, others get really bad dry skin, and then others get really bad oily skin. So i thought, since throughout my short life, i have suffered both oily and dry skin, i would do a blog on what i did to get rid/help my oily skin. Hopefully this will help those of you out there suffering oily skin.

  1. Get a face wash that it suited toward oily skin, and wash you face twice a day.

I started noticing that i was getting oily skin shortly after i started my first period in the 6th grade. I was terrified by how oily my skin looked, and how no matter what i did, i couldn’t seem to make it go away. That was until i started using Cetaphil Oily Skin Cleanser. I highly recommend this, and if you have sensitive skin like i do this is still a good cleanser so dont be afraid! I would wash my face once in the morning, make sure that you PAT your face dry, instead of rubbing it. Then i would wash my face for the second time before bed.

  2. Wash your bed sheets and pillows once a week.

Along with washing your face twice a day, i also would wash my pillows and bedding once a week. I personally believe that doing this really helped my acne and my oily skin

  3. Start an oil free diet.

I know its hard to pass up a french fry here and there, but exchanging that french fry for some veggies, and that burger for more lean meat will really improve your oily skin. When i cut back on the more processed food, i could see a noticable change in the oily-ness of my skin within a week. Cutting back on surgary drinks will also help reduce skin oil.

  4. Exfoliate Exfoliate Exfoliate!

Exfoliating your skin twice a week will reduce oily skin like you wouldnt believe. By exfoliating your skin, youre stripping yourself of dead skin cells, which helps reduce skin oils. Just be careful not to over exfoliate, that will only make the oily-ness wose.

  5. Exercise daily

By exercising daily you are increasing your blood flow which opens up your clogged pores as well as nourishes your skin.

  6. WATER WATER WATER.

Drink lots and lots of water. Water is such an amazing thing and will help you so so so so much. I cannot stress how important water is. I would reccomned drinking 5-6 glasses of water a day.

Thats it for todays blog. Comment down below how you got rid of your oily skin, or if you plan on doing this to get rid of oily skin!

Current Skincare Routine for Spring/Summer

Hello guys! Today I want to share with you my current skincare routine, it is a lot lighter than the super moisturizing routine I use in winter and it leaves me glowing this time of year!

*I have dry/normal skin*

1. Vapour Beauty Clarity Cleansing Oil

This is a really light cleansing oil and it gets my makeup all off. I love it because it leaves my skin feeling nourished since it leaves a light oily layer behind. It isn’t heavy though, it just feels nourishing, if you have oily skin you might not like this!

2. Terremere Tea and Aloe Hydrating Cleanser

This is so gentle and makes my face feel clean but never stripped of moisture! Also these go on sale on Hautelook for super cheap compared to the price on the Terremere website, so never pay full price for this.

Exfoliate 3x a week – Juice Beauty Exfoliating Cleanser

This is so gentle that you probably could use it everyday. It leaves your skin feeling baby soft and glowy. I like the fact that it is a physical scrub and that it never leaves your skin irritated.

3. Toner – The Body Shop Hydrating Vitamin E Toner

This is my new favorite toner, it is so gentle and works amazingly. I love the way that my skin feels when I use it, super clean and balanced without the tight feeling. It also is not super expensive so I would recommend you pick it up if you have drier skin and want a hydrating toner.

4. Serum – Juice Beauty Antioxidant Serum

This is one of my new favorites. It doesn’t feel heavy on the skin and it has a lot of good ingredients in it. It will feel sticky once you apply it but as soon as you put moisturizer on, it won’t feel sticky anymore and when you wake up your skin will look so renewed and bright.

5. Moisturizer – Acure the Wonderfluff Overnight Mask

So I’ve been using this as a night cream instead of an overnight mask, it is working out well so I’m just going to keep doing that. I just apply it like a moisturizer, and of course it takes a little while to rub in because it is supposed to be a mask. It is very light weight and a good amount of moisturizing, very nice for spring or summer where you don’t want a heavy moisturizer!

Mask 1x a week –  Sonage berry stem cell mask, Acure Pore Clarifying Red Clay Mask

This time of year I like to focus on brightening rather than super hydrating masks, so these are two I’ve been enjoying.I really love both of these and would recommend them!

Sonage Mask Review – here

Acure Pore Clarifying mask – This is wash off mask and as you wash it off it turns into a scrub kind of product, and it really brightens up the complexion!

That is it for my current skincare routine! Let me know what products aree in your skincare routine currently in the comments down below!

Vivo Per Lei Jelly Scrub Review!

Hello guys! Welcome back to another skincare review! In my winter skincare routine  I mentioned this jelly facial peel and a couple of you wanted a review on it, here you go:
Overview:

  • Cruelty free
  • Price: $11-20 from various retailers
  • 1.7 Fl. Oz of product

Promise:

  • MIRACULOUS FACIAL CLEANSING – This lush face exfoliating peel allows you to enjoy a squeaky clean look on your budget.
  • GETS RID OF BLACKHEADS – This daily peel off gel allows you to scrub your way to smoother, fresher and younger looking skin.
  • DIRT AND DEAD SKIN REMOVER – Use the Vivo Per Lei Face Peeling exfoliant to give skin a more youthful and luminous look.

So that is a huge list of promises! It feels like you’ve chopped up a bunch of jello and put it in a jar, it’s so weird! It has little granules that do a really nice job exfoliating my face, and I have noticed that my skin feels so clean and bright when I use this. Continue reading “Vivo Per Lei Jelly Scrub Review!”

Sonage Berry Stem Cell Face Mask Review

Hello guys! Today I am going to do a skincare review. I know we don’t talk about skincare a lot on our blog, but we are going to start doing more reviews because both Christine and I do face masks at least once a week!

Today I’m going to review the Sonage Patagonia Berry Stem Cell Face Mask!

Overview:

  • Natural and cruelty free brand!
  • Supposed to work best on dry skin
  • Price: $48 (which is pretty expensive!)

Promise: Antioxidant-rich intensely hydrating face mask helps reduce fine lines and wrinkles. Cream-textured stem cell technology leaves skin polished and visibly brighter. (from their website)

The packaging is really sturdy, it’s a glass jar with a nice lid, you could probably take this traveling and be fine, it wouldn’t break. The scent is definitely present, if you are super sensitive to fragrance, then I would recommend you smell it in store and see if it will bother you, it smells sort of like berry medicine. Personally, it didn’t bother me much at all.

It comes out purple, it isn’t a completely smooth texture, it has some small granules which work as a scrub when you take it off and it will leave your face very soft and polished. I did find that my skin looked very radiant for a day or so after, but as far as hydrating, I couldn’t see much of a difference. I would still use this for a light exfoliation and to make my skin brighter, it did my skin look lovely, just not as hydrated as I had expected. I think if you wanted anything super hydrating, and that is the sole reason you would purchase this, there are better options, my favorite is the Dr. Hauschka Hydrating mask! I don’t know what it did for wrinkle reduction because I’m seventeen and don’t have any yet!

Swatch:

Its this super pretty purple color when it comes out of the jar and it dries this shade as well.

Pros:

  • Light exfoliation
  • will leave your skin bright
  • feels nice on the face
  • good packaging, good brand ethics, etc.
  • All natural (which is a huge bonus)

Cons:

  • It is quite expensive
  • Not as hydrating as I was expecting
  • Kind of a strange scent

Overall I would say, if you are willing to spend some money on a nice mask and you want  radiance out of this mask, it is a good choice. If you are looking for something that is super hydrating and brightening, I think you could find a better option on the market!

Current Winter Skincare Routine!

Hello you guys! Welcome back to our blog! Today I wanted to share with you my skincare routine, I haven’t done one of these in ages, so it is definitely time for an update, and all of this is cruelty free this time!

This is the skincare routine that has prevented me from getting flaky dry patches this year. It is only five steps, so much simpler than my old routine.

  1. vapour cleansing oil

This is what I use to take off my makeup at night, it works so well. It leaves an oily but hydrating film on your skin, that film will come off if you double cleanse, or if you towel your face dry so you can use it on its own as well.

2. terremere Tea and Aloe Hydrating Cleanser

This is my second cleanse! It does a good job of taking off any leftover makeup, and leaves my skin very soft and hydrated. I love that this is not stripping, it is a lovely cream cleanser. Continue reading “Current Winter Skincare Routine!”

Mini Makeup/Haircare/Skincare Haul

Hello guys! Welcome back to our blog, I recently went shopping and I wanted to show you what I got. I have managed to curb my makeup spending but unfortunately I went a little bit nuts with my skincare!

Makeup:

Juice beauty stem cellular CC cream – this is a repurchase for me, I love this so much! Unfortunately the price on this went up fourteen dollars since I last repurchased which is nuts, so this might have to be my last tube!

Vapour beauty halo illuminator – this is a gorgeous little stick illuminator that I’m excited to try. This brand also has amazing ethics so I’m happy to support them!

February Beauty Empties!

Hello everyone and welcome back to our blog! I actually managed to finish a couple of things this month, which is quite a shock. Today I’m going to share with you what I finished and whether I would repurchase, I hope you all enjoy!

Organic surge super intensive moisturizer –

This is super thick and creamy, so it was perfect for December – January when my skin was dry. It was also only 12 dollars at marshalls, totally worth the money. This brand is also all organic which I love, there was no con to owning this!

repurchase: Yes!!

Shiseido Future Fx Eye Cream Sample

This was super great at diminishing fine lines, actually it gave me amazing results in general. The consistency was too gel-like for me and I found myself tugging at my eyes in order to rub it in, which I didn’t like, and Shiseido is not cruelty free.

Purchase: No Continue reading “February Beauty Empties!”

Updated Skincare Routine for Dry Skin

Hello everyone! I did a post like this a wayyy long time ago and I think it is most definitely time for an update. I have almost completely switched everything I use so let’s get into it!

Nightly:

1. Bareminerals Eye Makeup Remover

I love this, its oil based and really does get off your mascara and eyeshadow easily. I am almost out actually!

2. Neutrogena cleansing oil

This is my second step to removing all of my makeup, I like to make sure there is nothing left on my face, since I use a lot of SPF.  It leaves your skin feeling really fresh and hydrated afterward.

3. Neutrogena Purifying Cream Cleanser or Organic Surge Perfecting Face Polish Continue reading “Updated Skincare Routine for Dry Skin”
