December Beauty Favorites!

Hello you guys! I don’t think I have done a beauty favorites since September, which is way too long. Here is the roundup of a few items I have been loving through December!

Face Products:

Physicians Formula Butter Highlighter in the shade Pearl – This has been my go to highlighter, It is a so so soft and buttery and glides on without moving your foundation, it is blinding, basically all glitter and shimmer. It has a slight purply pink shift to it and would look lovely on any of you cool toned fair girls!

Dirty Works Bye Bye Dark Circles Corrector and Concealer – This has been what I reached for almost all through December, It is so lightweight and didn’t dry out my undereyes, even with the dry and chilly weather. Review here!

Mini Ulta Makeup Haul!

Hello guys! Welcome back to our blog! A few days ago I went to Ulta with Christine and bought a few things! Mostly practical things. I think I am putting myself on a no-buy after this because I need to save up for christmas gifts for everyone in my family!

Anyways let’s get into it!

Face Products:

Real Techniques Miracle Complexion Sponge – I’d never tried this sponge and I had heard so many good things about it! So far my first impression is good as well, I actually love it! I’ve never tried an original beauty blender so I won’t know how it compares, but I like this so far.

Becca First Light Priming Filter – I heard that this was hydrating and lovely from one of my favorite beauty gurus on youtube so I decided to pick up a mini size. I have a couple of primers to work through first before I commit to a big size of this one.

3 Favorite Dark Lipsticks for Winter!

Hello guys! It is almost officially winter and I have been loving dark berry lip colors and just darker shades in general! Today I’m going to share with you my favorite dark lipsticks for winter. These happen to all be from the drugstore and are ridiculously affordable.

I did do a post like this last year, if you would like to see how much my blogging skills have improved, click here

Anyways! Here are my recommendations!

Milani Color Statement Lipstick in the shade Chocolate Berries –

This is a beautiful, more wearable, brown toned purple! I love the formula and the color on this and it is such a lovely lipstick. This one is not a matte finish, instead its more of a satin. I like that because I think a little luminosity makes your lips look bigger which is important when you are wearing dark colors!

Elf Moisturizing Lipstick in the shade Razzle Dazzle Red –

This is my favorite dark red of all time. Against fair skin this looks beautiful and on medium and deep I think you would still really love this. It’s a very universal deep red! It is beautiful and lasts a long time even though it isn’t a matte formula. This won’t bleed outside your lip lines but it will transfer so you do have to be a little careful with it!

NYX Simply Vamp lipstick in the shade Bewitching –

NYX Butter Gloss Review

Hello guys! I recently bought a couple of new NYX lip products and one of them was this butter gloss!

It turns out I actually have been really loving the formula so here is my final thoughts on it:

(From the NYX website)

Each glossy color delivers sheer to medium coverage that melts onto your lips and is never sticky, leaving your lips soft, supple and kissable.

NYX Lip Lingerie Lipstick Review

Hello everyone! Welcome back to our blog! I got this product a little while ago and I know there are millions of reviews on these lipsticks already but I wanted to share my take on it!

Promise: weightless liquid lipstick with a plush matte finish! (from NYX website)

img_4020

Overview:

  • Cruelty free!
  • Will be a long wearing liquid lipstick
  • Price: $6.99 (bargain!)
  • dries matte

This lipstick has quickly become one of my favorites and for me definitely lives up to the hype that it gets! The formula is really lightweight and whipped which I enjoy because I like the feeling of nothing on my lips. It dries down fairly quick, definitely in less than a minute. The end result is transferproof, it doesn’t come off if you touch it and for me this works even better than the Too Faced Melted Mattes in that department. the applicator is really nice as well. In a lot of ways this reminds me of the tartiest matte lip paints, those being just a little more lightweight. These are so amazing for the price! The lasting power is about 4 hours with an even fade. This does not emphasize lip lines on my lips personally which I really enjoy.

I got the shade Bedtime Flirt which might be the best nude ever for fair skin!

Here is the applicator:

Pros and Cons:

Pros:

  • transferproof
  • looks matte but not one-dimensional
  • gorgeous shade selection
  • light and more whipped formula
  • nice applicator which made it easy to apply
  • no emphasizing of my lip lines
  • nice amount of product
  • not drying on the lips

Cons:

  • Lasting power was not as long as I’d expected
  • A second coat will cause stickiness so try not to touch up unless you need to

That is all I have for you guys today! I hope you enjoyed my review and I know many of you must have tried this out for yourselves so let me know how your experience went down in the comments!

Mini Haul of Makeup and Skincare

Hello guys! Lately I’ve been picking up a couple of things skincare wise, I’m saving up for some high end skincare and needed some minis to tide me over. I also could not resist trying out some of the NYX lippies that are cult favorites so here is what I bought.

Makeup:

NYX butter gloss in the shade creme Brulee – This was to replace my laura geller lip gloss that I finished! I am so excited to try these glosses because I haven’t heard a bad review.

NYX soft matte lip cream in the shade Milan – I also wanted to try this formula because these are cult favorites. Milan looked like it would be lighter but it is super bright so I might exchange this one!

Top 5 Lip Products for Fall!

Hello everyone and welcome back to our blog! I have been obsessed with darker brown nude lips lately, and I wanted to share my top five. I have glosses and matte lipsticks and liquid and cream lipsticks in here basically all different finishes, light to dark shades and sheer to opaque so there is something for everyone!

1. LA colors Matte Lipstick in the shade in love

This is a matte finish lipstick and it is the most stunning deeper brown nude that you can build up to a more edgy look for swipe on one coat for a beautiful natural look. I absolutely love the staying power of this and I don’t think it is drying in the slightest.

2. Charlotte Tilbury Matte Revolution Lipstick in the shade Very Victoria

This one is way more subtle and is a stunning brown nude for fair to medium skin tones. It is so creamy, matte and I actually love this for everyday. I have done a review on it if you want more information!

September Beauty Favorites!

Hi guys! Today I wanted to share with you my september beauty favorites! I have quite a few because I bought some new things this month and last month and I have loved a bunch of them.

Too Faced Totally Cute palette –

I didn’t think that I would enjoy this as much as I have been. The mattes in here are lovely and I have been using them so often that I am thinking about picking up the natural matte nine pan palette. The go to look I do is storm cloud on the lid with frosted donut in the crease, beautiful for fall.

Alba Botanica Hawaiian Detox Frothy scrub –

This is such a good exfoliator scrub! It really gets off all the dead skin and leaves you with super soft skin. This is also super cheap!

Benefit Dallas Blush –

I have recently been rediscovering how much I enjoy using this. It goes on so smooth and is really blendable. I have never worn this and had it look overdone or unnatural which I really like.

Lipstick! –

Buxom Full On Matte Lipstick – These more nude-pink shades have been my everyday go tos lately. I love this shade and formula. It does plump your lips and feels a little bit cooling and stingy when you put it on, but it doesn’t hurt at all. The actual lipstick is really creamy which I enjoy.

Liquid Suede Lipstick from NYX in the shade Soft Spoken – This more cool toned brown lip is something I also have been liking. The more I use this formula the more I enjoy it. It is pretty and I have been wearing it a lot lately because I feel like it plays well with my darker eye looks.

elf Moisturizing Lipstick in the shade Razzle Dazzle Red – This is not only one of my favorite lipstick formulas now but this shade has been beautiful for fall. I love a dark red vampy lip and this was perfect.

Those are my september favorites! I hope you guys enjoyed this post. Let me know what you have been loving down below!

NYX Liquid Suede Cream Lipstick Review

Hello everyone! I know that literally everyone has reviewed these cream lipsticks but I wanted to give you guys my take on them because I do have some pros and cons with this formula!

Promise: Our Liquid Suede Cream Lipstick glides on and sets into a striking matte finish.

Overview:

  • cruelty free!
  • Price: $6.99 (bargain)
  • matte finish

I do think that these do glide on, they are so opaque and pigmented which I absolutely love and they have a really matte finish so they accomplish the promise! They don’t really dry down all the way, (not a liquid lipstick) and feel a bit sticky if you press your lips together while you wear them. The stickiness slightly bothers me but the formula is comfortable. They are super matte which I absolutely love but they do feel kind of thick on your lips and are not as lightweight and whipped as the formulas that I usually enjoy.

Swatch:

This is the shade Bedtime Flirt and I kind of want to pick up more of these!

Pros:

  • Super matte finish
  • opaque and really pigmented
  • comfortable formula
  • pretty long lasting (except through food)
  • cruelty free!

Cons:

  • Thick formula that you can feel on the lips
  • does feel slightly sticky
  • doesn’t layer well (you shouldn’t need more than one, although touch ups can get a bit sticky)

The only thing I would change about these if I could is to make them a little more lightweight and less sticky. Overall I am willing to overlook it because they are so pigmented and I do like them, especially for a bargain price.
