Essie nail polish

Hello my lovlies! I do enjoy making my horizons wider with this beauty blog. If it isnt obvious by the picture in today’s blog, i will be reviewing the nail side of the beauty world.

Now i always loved painting my nails, as a child i loved how i could express my colorful self through nail polish. It also meant bonding time with my mother which i always loved .

As i began my musical carrier i sort of shifted away from nail polish, it seemed every time i painted my nails, the second i brought out my violin they would chip. And then as i got into middle school and high school i realized i have zero patinces to sit and wait for nail polish to dry!

On the special moments that i do paint my nails Essie is always my favorite brand of nail polish. I love the wide variety of colors that they have. Not to mention the layer dry relatively fast.

And as many of you have probably realized over the years, i really really love the color pink. Out of all the pink Essie shades this one is my favorite. I love how it isnt like a hot hot pink, its a pink that can go with a lot of my outfits, its very natural looking, not a bold color that draws attention to me. Also blush pink is one of my favorite shades of pink in the world. At first i didnt like how the consistancy was so thin, one of the things that makes painting my nails such a bother is when i have to sit and do layers. I dont know if its just me, but when i paint my nails i want to be done as soon as humanly possible. In my opinion thicker consistancies of nail polish tend to take less time. Sure it takes a bit longer to dry, but at least i dont have to sit for hours on end waiting for each layer to dry. After using Essie for a few years now i’ve grown to actually liking the thinner nail polishes. My impatient self has learned that good things come those who wait.

Overall, i really do like this nail polish, and the Essie brand in general!

Comment down below if you like the Essie brand, and what do you think about it!

Face Products:

Physicians Formula Butter Highlighter in the shade Pearl – This has been my go to highlighter, It is a so so soft and buttery and glides on without moving your foundation, it is blinding, basically all glitter and shimmer. It has a slight purply pink shift to it and would look lovely on any of you cool toned fair girls!

Dirty Works Bye Bye Dark Circles Corrector and Concealer – This has been what I reached for almost all through December, It is so lightweight and didn’t dry out my undereyes, even with the dry and chilly weather. Review here!

Big Makeup/Vanity Declutter!

Hello guys! I feel like it hasn’t been that long since I went through my collection but there was just some stuff in there that I needed to get rid of.

Makeup:

Tarte Brow Toolbox – I never use this because the shades are too brown for me, but I think Christine might love it so i’m going to gift it to her.

Laura Geller Lipstick in Berry – I don’t feel like berry lips suit me very well anymore so I’m getting rid of this one.

Jane Iredale lip stain in the shade forever peach – I liked this at first but I don’t think the bright coral orange color suits me well when I have red hair.

W3ll people Bio Brightening Invisible Powder – I somehow ended up with two so I’m going to give away this one.

Too Faced La Creme Lipstick in Mean Girls – This is too bright for me, but I think it would look gorgeous on christines tanner complexion so I’ll gift it to her.

Stila Cushion Gel liner in sapphire ink – I don’t like this formula at all so I’m getting rid of this.

Bareminerals Single Shadows in Rhyme and Lyre – Both of these are gorgeous but I have dupes for them in palettes.

Beauty Empties: Sept-Oct

Hello guys! I have a lot of beauty empties from these past few months, so lets get right into it. Grab a snack because this will be long!

Makeup:

Elizabeth Arden Skin Lotion – I love this so much, but it is discontinued and not cruelty free so I can’t repurchase.

Pacifica lip balm – I liked this except I went through it pretty quick. I probably would buy it again.

Laura geller lip pops lipgloss – I wish I could repurchase this! This is my favorite gloss formula ever but it was limited edition and is now discontinued.

Bobbi Brown Smokey eye mascara – Finally finished this! I’m glad to get another makeup product out of my collection that isn’t cruelty free.

Fall 2017 Ipsys!

Hello my lovelies!

So I’ve been a little forgetful when it comes to the ipsy bags, I am very sorry!

I completely forgot to do a September post of the September bag, so I decided to combine September and October’s bags into one big  fall ipsy bag review.

For September the first item I pulled out was…

Smash box photo finish primer in the shade of radiance

img_0034

Now as much as this is a good product, I find I just don’t use it as much. Not that it’s bad, I just don’t really use it, this primer didn’t WOW me enough for me to use it daily.

Pacifica blush

Now I love the brand Pacifica, all their products are amazing! So I was so exited when I opened this one up, the two blushed are an amazing shade and apply as if you were naturally blushing, by far my favorite ipsy item so far!

Another Vanity Declutter!

Hi guys and welcome back to our blog! I recently did a makeup only declutter but the rest of my vanity got a little bit out of control, so let me show you what I am getting rid of:

Nail polish:

Zoya polish in the shade Mason – This looks really similar to a butter london polish I have and I prefer that one.

Butter London Nail Lacquer in the shade Knackered – This is a glitter transformer polish, I don’t really use polishes like this.

Butter London Nail Lacquer in the shade nude stilettos – This is a sheer nude, and if I was going to use a shade like this I probably just wouldn’t wear polish at all.

Butter London Nail Lacquer in the shade fairy lights – this is pretty but it is more for nail art, which I don’t do.

Nail four side buffer – I rarely ever use this and I just got a more compact one so I will let this go.

Perfume:

Jo Malone samples in the scents Nectarine Blossom and Honey, English Pear and Freesia and Peony and Blush Suede – I think I stole these from my mom so I am going to give them back to her, these are some of her favorite ones.

Makeup Brushes:

Terremere Kabuki Brush – This was nice but I never reached for it so I am going to give it away.

Tarte Mascara wand – this goes to some tarte lash product that I gave away, so I no longer need the brush.

It brushes for Ulta, angled brush for liner and brows – this was a little too flimsy of an angled brush for me, I recently got a becca one that I love so I don’t need this one.

Jewelry:

Navajo Necklace and Bracelet set – These are soo stunning except I never wear them. My mom’s friend collects jewelry and I think she would love these a lot so they are going to her.

Pearl earrings – I never wear dangly earrings because they get caught in my hair, these are so classic and I’m sure someone will love them.

Watercolor book earrings – These are handmade and so pretty but I don’t wear them, I know someone will love to have them.

Makeup bags:

I am getting rid of these two because I never use them. I realized a bit ago that i sort of hoard cosmetic bags and I am trying to fix that!

That is it for my declutter, I hope you guys enjoyed this post! Have a great day you guys 🙂

Mini Collective Haul!

Hello everyone! I’ve been picking up a few bits and bobs from marshalls and the drugsture the past couple of weeks and I just wanted to collect them and show you guys. I did pick up one super exciting product from too faced, so here we go:

Makeup:

Too faced Totally Cute Palette – I found this for $10.99 at marshalls which was so cool. I have wanted to try the nine pan palette formula for a long time, and upon first impression I am loving it, I will do a full review if you guys want!

Stila Got Inked Cushion Liner in the shade sapphire ink – I got rid of all my navy eyeliners in my last declutter so I wanted to try this out. I really like stila as well!

Skincare:

Burts bees chapstick in pomegranate – I finished my pacifica chapstick so quick, so I decided to try this instead to see if it would last me longer. I love burts bees lip products and this is super nice.

Alba Botanica Hawaiian Detox Frothy Scrub – This is my cruelty free body wash to replace the softsoap one I had. This smells so nice and fresh and I am excited to try it.

Alba Botanica Hawaiian hand and body lotion – This smells like chocolate and I had to pick it up! It is so thick and moisturizing so I am really looking forward to using this.

Massive Beauty Declutter!

Hi guys! Lately I have bought some new products and its time for me to get rid of the old stuff that I no longer am using.  I’ve cleaned out my makeup and also my skincare and samples for this declutter so I’m going to show you what I’m getting rid of.

I also know that Christine has been beauty purging as well so maybe you’ll see a post like this from her soon!

Makeup:

I never color correct except for canceling redness so I’m getting rid of the bulky palette and I’ll purchase green concealer separately. That becca quad is not good quality in my opinion but christine wanted to try it so I’ll give it to her. The mascara is expired so it is going away! I never reach for coral so the milani gloss got no use from me. I also never reach for single shadows so I duped all of those seven shades in palettes. they are so amazing though, if you like single shadows I highly recommend these!

Nails:

I didn’t use the nude polishes from Deborah Lippman or the barielle. The butter london one was so cool toned it looked awful on me, and the pink zoya polish is just not me anymore. I also never do nail art so I don’t need the stickers, and I hate nail files I am keeping only one. Continue reading “Massive Beauty Declutter!”

Coming Together to Make A Difference for NARS Cosmetics!

Hi guys! Welcome back to our blog. I know we’ve been posting a lot but this post is pretty time sensitive! If you were looking for a makeup post, one will be up Thursday like normal so don’t worry!

I am sure most of you know by now that NARS is no longer considered a cruelty free brand. If you have been anywhere on social media beauty bloggers everywhere (including me) are freaking out about it. They’ve made the decision to sell in China which includes mandatory animal testing, which is really sad!

*not my photo, owner’s link is in the caption*

This beauty is not my picture! The owner’s blog: Click here!

But there is an upside, NARS has not entered the Chinese market yet (plan to sometime in 2017), which means we still have some time to convince them not to. And I get it, sometimes these big companies seem so untouchable. And they probably wouldn’t listen  if it was two or three people asking them to remain cruelty free. But if theres two or three thousand of us asking then maybe it would be a different story.

At first I felt so powerless and then I realized that I can actually do something, I have all of you guys! And all of you run blogs and can do something too! We can make such a huge difference together. Continue reading “Coming Together to Make A Difference for NARS Cosmetics!”
