Hair Care Routine for Wavy-Curly Hair

Hello guys! I have wanted to do a haircare routine since we started this blog and I am finally going to do one! Today I’ll take you through washing my hair and then styling it so it air dries curly without frizz:

1. comb through your hair with a wide tooth comb, it makes a big difference!

2. 2chic Avocado and Olive Oil shampoo by Giovanni

After detangling, I shampoo. This is a really nice shampoo, very moisturizing and it gets rid of any product buildup on your scalp while still being gentle. It is also very affordable so I highly recommend this if you have curls or just dry hair in general.

(2.5.) Juice Organics Coconut Hair Mask

Once a week I use this hair mask! I absolutely love it, it leaves my hair so soft and silky and defrizzed. My hair strands are always dry until I use this mask. Highly recommend this for a cheap hair mask full of natural ingredients if you don’t want to DIY one!

3. Mop c-system conditioner

This conditioner is my absolute favorite. It is so rich and will leave your hair soft and silky. It moisturizes my curls and eliminates frizz, this is the one item I allow myself to splurge on for haircare! I apply this and let it sit for a few minutes. Then I rinse it out and get out of the shower!

3. Renpure Coconut Cream Curl Defining Cream

After I get out of the shower the first thing I do is wring my hair out, then I apply this to the ends of my hair and work my way up to my scalp, so that by the time I am at the top of my head there is very little product on my hands. This curl cream is so good and so affordable, you need it if you have curls. It makes your curls moisturized, defined and they bounce! This made a huge difference in my hair, it never gets frizzy and the curl definition lasts for a few days.

4. Giovanni Leave in conditioner and Styling elixir

After curl cream, I use a styling product. This is a super lightweight gel, it  gives extra moisture to your hair, and it also helps hold in any styling that you do. I scrunch my hair with a microfiber towel just to make the curls in my hair tighter, and this product keeps my curls the way I want them to look.

This is what my hair looks like after it dries!

Those are all the products I’ve been using in my haircare routine. I hope you guys enjoyed this post, it is a little bit different than I’ve ever shared before so I hope everyone liked it!

Beauty Empties: November – December

Hey guys, welcome back to our blog! Today I want to share with you my beauty empties for the month of November and December.

Makeup:

Butter London Plush Rush lip gloss in Free-fall – This was a gorgeous gloss! For me these seem quite similar to Buxom’s formula, and I enjoy those glosses just a little more, so I wouldn’t rebuy this.

LA colors lip gloss in clear – This is the best thick and hydrating clear gloss. I always put it over liquid lipsticks and I miss it a ton! Definitely going to repurchase.

It cosmetics Hello Light Cream Highlighter – I used this up this year. I repurchased it already, I love it. It is the perfect cream highlight for everyday!

Dr.Hauschka stick corrector in shade 01 – I did like this concealer but the shade was way too pink for me. I like the formula but I think I can find something better. Wouldn’t repurchase!

EOS lip balm – EOS is not cruelty free so I would not repurchase! But I also don’t feel like this hydrates my lips much at all, so I wouldn’t recommend these balms.

NYX Worth the Hype Mascara – I love this mascara! I cannot wait to go repurchase it, I like the consistency and the effect it gives to my lashes.

NYX Microbrow pencil in taupe- This eyebrow pencil was lovely. I just ran out of it this morning and I am going to repurchase it today because (not to be dramatic here) I can’t live without it.

Skincare:

Burts Bees Facial Cleansing towelettes – These were really good makeup wipes! I mostly used them for swatches and I would definitely repurchase.

SheaMoisture Youth Infusing Mud Mask – This mud mask kind of dried out my skin, I’m not sure how I felt about it and I wouldn’t repurchase. Continue reading “Beauty Empties: November – December”

Beauty Empties: September and October

Hello and welcome back to our blog! Today I want to share my beauty empties from the last couple months with you all:

Makeup:

Sadly we’ve only got one makeup empty for the last two months!

Juice Beauty Stem Cellular CC cream – This is almost finished, and it has gone bad! It is a lovely light foundation for everyday, and I love that it is spf 30. I’ve already repurchased.

Skincare:

Vapour Beauty clarity cleansing oil – I love this cleansing oil, it is so lightweight and it really works to get your makeup off. It is gentle and doesn’t sting my eyes. I have already repurchased!

Acure the Magical Wonderfluff moisturizer – This moisturizer was really light but hydrating. I did enjoy using it but I am not very loyal to a certain moisturizer and I’m ready to try something else.

Sonage Patagonia Berry Stem Cell Mask – I loved this face mask! It was incredibly nice, and it really made a difference in my skin. However, this is $48 dollars so I would not repurchase!

Acure Purifying Fruit Peel – I loved this fruit peel. It really gives you new skin after you use it. This makes my face so soft and it feels very balanced, not dry or irritated. It does seem pretty strong so I would be wary if you have sensitive skin, but it worked lovely on my skin! I will buy the full size.

No 7 Glow Activating Serum – This was a great light hydrating serum. Unfortunately, it is not the type of feel that I want, it feels gel-like and I prefer my serums to feel oily so I would not repurchase, but if you have an oilier skin type you might like this!

Bodycare:

Weleda Almond sensitive skin body wash – This was an average bodywash, but it is a little pricy though! I wouldn’t repurchase!

Aesop Rind Concentrate Body Butter – This was a good lotion but it is very heavily fragranced with orange. It was way too much for me, wouldn’t repurchase!

Haircare:

I never use up haircare so I’m happy to have moved out some of this!

Giovanni 2chic Avocado and Olive oil Ultra Moist Shampoo – I did like this shampoo, but it isn’t the most gentle one I could find. I am going to try something else instead!

Giovanni 2 chic Avocado and Olive Oil leave-in conditioning and styling elixir – This is a lovely leave in conditioner and styler, it really defines my curls and moisturizes them. I enjoy what it does for my hair and I repurchased!

Aveda Rosemary Mint Shampoo – This shampoo was a little harsh on my curls, it did get all the buildup out of my hair but it also made my curls frizz so I would not buy the full size!

Aveda Rosemary Mint conditioner – This was a very watery conditioner and it did a lovely job, but it doesn’t work as well as my MOP conditioner so I will pass on it!

That is it for my empties! I’m sorry for being absent for a bit, Christine has been doing a great job holding down the fort for the last couple weeks. I hope you guys enjoyed this post and I will see you soon!

September Beauty Favorites!

Hello guys! Welcome back to our blog, today I want to share with you my favorites from September! Lets get into it:

Makeup:

Babo Lip Tint SPF 15 Conditioner –

This lip balm has a little bit of pink tint and it has been perfect for everyday. I can quickly apply it before class and look put together, plus it is really moisturizing! It lasts a while on the lips and makes them look so healthy.

Morphe 12 NB palette –

This has been my go to eyeshadow palette lately! The warm toned looks are beautiful for this end of summer-autumn phase. These shadows blend easily, and they don’t crease on me (even without a primer) for hours!

Tarte Gifted Mascara + NYX Worth The Hype Mascara –

I have really enjoyed layering these two mascaras! The combo gives me beautiful, long and volumized  lashes with definition. I love to put down the NYX one first as a lengthening base, and then go in with the Tarte for volume. I also love to put the Tarte mascara on my lower lashes, it makes them look lovely!

Skincare:

Derma-E Hydrating Night Cream –

This has been a lifesaver for me the past couple of weeks. My skin had an absolute freak out because of my move to Cali for college. It went oily and then incredibly dry. This cream is super hydrating but it is fairly lightweight and has worked well through both skin types. Highly recommend this if you need a new night cream!

Acure Seriously Glowing Facial Serum –

This serum was much too heavy for my skin back home, but now it works amazingly for me. This is the only thing that has been able to help balance out my dry skin. It is amazingly hydrating, thick and heavy. I absolutely love it because it makes my skin glow by the morning.

Sonage Remedy Relief Balancing Mask –

I love the way this makes my skin feel after, it really zaps clogged pores and it helped balance out my oily skin. Even now that my skin has turned dry it still makes my face feel nice. It is an incredibly rejuvenating mask!

That’s it for my September favorites! I hope you guys enjoyed, let me know what you’ve been loving down in the comments below, I would love to know!

Acne skin care routine

Hello my lovelies!! I’m back and here with the much awaited skincare routine. And let me just tell you, you’re in for some laughs!

So over this past year I have been getting really bad acne. I used to be those lucky girls that never had to worry about acne, so I thought that it would never happen to me..yet it did and I HATED it. I think the main reason for the acne was because my hormones were all over the place.

My acne needed action and FAST. I tried all the Pinterest all natural things, and nothing worked. So I turned to my good ol Target. And let’s just say I am pleased with my results!

Neutrogena all-in-1 acne control daily scrub:

Now you may be asking, “Christine what is the laugh you’re talking about? Skin care is a serious business!” And girl trust me I know! Let’s just say…Christine didn’t read the back of this and temporarily made her problem worse. On the back it says..in bold all caps… DO NOT PARTNER WITH OTHER ACNE SCRUBS, COULD CAUSE IRRITATION. And you would never believe what I was doing…partnering them together. I was using both this and the Clearasil together, they were technically the same thing so my logic was it would make it work even faster…well it didn’t and it irritated my skin causing red bumps to show up around my cheeks. Thankfully I realized my mistake and stopped using the Neutrogena. I am not using this because it is bad, but simply because I’m using the clearasil first and cannot use this at this time. Once I finish the clearsil I will begin to use Neutrogena!

Clearasil rapid rescue deep treatment wash:

This is what I’ve been using twice a day. Once in the morning tight when I wake up, and then at night before bed. And let me tell you, after the previous story above. This really helped. Once I started ONLY using this, the red spots from combining the two products, plus any existing acne went away within a day. I really like how this also treats scars. The scars don’t go away as quickly as those non scarred acne, but within a day you can clearly see it start to lighten up. And when I use it in the morning I feel so refreshed and awake i really do enjoy this product. I will warn, with all these products your skin does dry out a lot.

10% Benzoyl Peroxide gel:

I heard of this gel via instagram, and I was eager to see if it would aid my acne and zits. I usually use this right after the Clearasil wash, and I think it really does aid in the treatment. I also apply this twice a day. The only thing I dislike about this is that it dries out your skin even more than the acne wash. But I knew that going into this product. It really helps with the acne though.

I would like to also add that I use the Pixi Tonic Glow serum once a week as well. I forgot to take a picture of it, but I also use that and it helps a lot. Stings a little but it works!

July Beauty Favorites!

Hello guys! Welcome back to our blog. Today I’m going to share with you some products I’ve been loving throughout the month of July. Lets get into it:

Face Products:

Milani Make It Last setting spray – I’ve been to a few events in the heat this past month and this setting spray has really helped keep my makeup on longer, and it doesn’t make my face look dehydrated!

Tarte Park Avenue Princess Bronzer – I am pretty sure this was in last month’s favorites, oops! But I love the tone of this, it never makes my skin look muddy and instead makes me look naturally tan!

Eye Products:

NYX Control Freak Eyebrow Gel – This has been my go-to! It keeps my brow powder/pomade in all day and it doesn’t make your brows crunchy, even though it’s medium hold. I highly recommend you pick this up.

NYX Worth The Hype Mascara – My lashes look so good with this mascara on. It is a more natural looking mascara, lots of length and definition and a little bit of volume. It stays on all day and is really black, I love it!

Biotin cranberry mixed berry vitamin review

Hello my lovelies! Now I know you’re probably thinking, Christine why on earth are you doing reviewing vitamins?? Well, we are a beauty blog and I believe beauty is not just makeup. So today I will be reviewing biotin gummies.

Now your girl over here loves her some Pinterest, especially like improving yourself Pinterest post. Recently I would see so much hype about cranberry biotin vitamins on Pinterest so I wanted to try them out. Now my hair is pretty long and thick already, but I love myself some long hair. Adore long hair. As for my skin, lately due to the amount of stress I have been going through and my hormones getting crazy out of wack due to the stress, my skin game has been weak. I have been breaking out so much recently it’s not even funny, so that was the main reasoning I got vitamins.

Now I’ve only been using these for a week, so I know results won’t be super noticeable, but I will do a 1 month update!

After a few days of using this I definitely noticed my nails had been growing crazy fast, so I knew it was working. As for my hair I can’t really say much, I haven’t noticed any grow, much is does look a lot healthier! And now onto my skin.

My skin, I don’t see much change, nothing really gone away or gotten better, but I hope that after using these vitamins for a little longer that I’ll start seeing more progress….cuz yo girl is losing hope!

Comment below on products you use for break outs! Also comment below if you use biotin vitamins!

Makeup:

Becca Backlight Priming filter primer – This has been my go to every time I’ve needed to do my makeup for an event this past month. It makes my skin dewy and hydrated and it also keeps my foundation on longer, so I have really been enjoying it!

Hourglass Vanish stick foundation in Blanc – This has also been my go to this past month! I always went to this foundation for weightless full coverage as well as the gorgeous satin finish for my prom and graduation makeup.

NYX Butter Gloss in angel food cake – This has been my favorite to throw on for everyday. It is a beautiful pink color that makes my lips juicy and pretty. You guys already know how much I love these glosses!

Tarte Park Avenue Princess Bronzer – This bronzer lasts ages on the skin, isn’t too dark for me, I just love it. I won’t bore you guys because I recently did a review and talked all about this!

Skin/Bodycare:

valjean labs Glow serum – This serum delivers really nice hydration. It is my favorite serum for this warm weather because it doesn’t feel heavy on the skin, but it still keeps your skin really moisturized.

Beauty Empties: May-June!

Hello guys! Welcome back to our blog, today I’m going to share all the products I finished in the last couple months. Lets get into it:

Makeup:

w3ll people expressionist mascara – This is one of my favorite mascaras, it is very black and gives you long defined lashes that are very fluttery and natural. Definitely need to repurchase!

Smashbox Brow Tech to go in Taupe – I really enjoyed this, but after finishing two full sizes I’m just over it, and I’m going to try something else!

Physicians formula Eye booster eyeliner – This has a very thin and watery formula. I prefer my other eyeliner pens so would not repurchase!

Skincare:

Juice Beauty Antioxidant Serum – I’ve been loving this for my skin lately! It makes me really glowy and gets rid of any dryness. Picking up the full size for sure.

Burts Bees Facial Cleansing Towelettes – These were nice makeup removing wipes, if you are looking for some you might like these. I have a makeup eraser though and because it is less wasteful than wipes I’m going to stick to that instead!

Burts Bees Flavor Crystals Lip Balm – This was a lovely lip balm. It kept my lips moisturized, smelled like pineapple, would repurchase!

June Ipsy bag!

Hello lovlies! Summer is finally upon us, thank goodness! Here in Washington it’s always so cold and rainy, so we take up all the sun we can get!

I just want to say I LOVE this months ipsy bag!!!

Hey Honey come clean facial scrub:

This is such an amazing exfoliating scrub! I love it and it really gets all the yucky dead skin off, I used it before getting a tan and it was amazing!

Feel pure anywhere rose balm

This balm smells so gooooddddd!! I’m a sucker for anything Rose and Lavender (if you couldn’t tell from some of my more recent post) so I was so excited to get this, it moisturizes really well and it last all day!

MAC prep+prime primer

This primer is so smooth and silky, it has a hint of glitter in it, which for some people could be a issue with, but it’s ever so slight and gives you this glow. I don’t mind the glitter much, helps my makeup stay on all day!

Pacifica eyeshadow

I love love love love love this eyeshadow. My two favorite shades are the orange ones because I’ve been looking EVERYWHERE for a good pigmented orange and I finally found it! I use this every day!

Firma 102 brush

I love this brush, it’s very soft and applies very naturally. Not to mention it looks really good with the marble!

That’s it for this post!

Let me know down in the comments what you got in your ipsy! Or if you have any of these items!
