Pixi T-zone Peel Off Mask Review

Hello guys! Welcome back to our blog. Today I am doing a skincare review of a product I’ve been testing out for a while.

Overview:

  • Cruelty free!
  • Price: $22
  • 1.25 fl. Oz of product

Promises:

  • Instantly detoxifies by drawing out impurities & removing excess oil
  • Helps firm & refine
  • Contains natural ingredients rich in antioxidants (From the Target website)

This peel off mask is nice, it does exfoliate my skin where I use it on my face. I do think it helped unclog my pores a little bit, but by no means does it do that much for my face, it doesn’t get rid of blackheads or anything drastic. Continue reading “Pixi T-zone Peel Off Mask Review”

Life Update: First Year of College!

Hello guys! Welcome back to our blog! Unfortunately, neither of us have been able to blog lately, but now that it is summer we are back! I recently just finished my first year of college and I wanted to share how I felt about it:

First semester life update: here!

*My first semester was lovely, I truly enjoyed it! If you haven’t read that post then it might make sense to read it first before this one!*

My second semester of college started in mid-January and it ended just last week after finals. This semester I felt like I had a better handle on my coursework and that I could take on some side projects, I also felt like I was happier, I was less lonely, less homesick and like I was finally starting to make a lot of good friends.

My grades are still good, the classes I am taking are so interesting, and I love what I’m studying. I always make sure that schoolwork is my first priority, I want to keep my good gpa, and I am proud of myself for the work that I did this semester.

As you guys know, I also run cross country and track for my college! Continue reading “Life Update: First Year of College!”

Day In My Life: College Athlete, Student + Blogger

Hey guys! Welcome back to our blog. I thought it would be fun to share some more personal stuff on here. This is a little day in my life blog of what I do on Mondays since that is the day I’m writing this (but this post has been in my drafts for ages!)

Last semester I did cross country, this semester, (spring semester) is when track and field starts!

5:15 am – I wake up, eat something and head to the locker room, all of the girls on the team and I chill out in there and stretch before practice.

6:00 am – Practice starts! (it’s a real struggle for me, I’m a night owl and I would prefer to run at midnight than get up at 5.) We do different workouts depending on the day, Mondays are our easy days. Today’s workout was a 7 mile progression run, it wasn’t ‘easy’ but it is easier than our workout days.

8:00 am – Done with practice! Tuesdays and Thursdays we do weights from 8:00-9:00, but since it is not required on Mondays, I skip it in favor of eating breakfast.

9:00 am – I shower and get ready for my first class at 11:00 am. I usually also squeeze in a few minutes of liking people’s Instagram photos and blog posts before class!

OOTD:

Christine is definitely the girlier one of us, she’s always wearing dresses and heels, but I’ll stay comfy in my leggings and sneakers over here!

11:00 am – My first class is a seminar called Music as Protest, basically we just learn about how music has been used throughout history to spark social revolutions and I actually love it, it is super interesting.

12:30 pm – Time for lunch! I never skip any meals, I eat about as much as small horse. While I eat, I always am on Instagram or WordPress or something. Basically I fit in blogging whenever I can during my day, otherwise I’d have no time for it!

After that I have a break until my second class, so I usually do my homework for that class right now. On Mondays in particular I always plan out my week with my planner, that is the only way that I won’t forget to turn in assignments I swear. Highly recommend that you use a planner if you don’t already!

3:30 pm – I go to my second class (honestly my game plan for succeeding at college is to show up to all the classes and turn everything in on time, it hasn’t failed me so far!) This class is called Music of the World’s people and it is a music history class based around the traditions of a lot of different cultures.

5:00 – 9:00 pm – Then I relax and finish up any other homework I have. This is the time when I write posts, practice piano, be with friends etc. And I eat dinner of course! This is also when I work on my work stuff, I manage 2 artists at my college and I do transcription work for one of my professors so I try to squeeze that in when I get time.

9:00 pm – I start getting ready for bed around now, doing my skincare (my skincare routine is here) and brushing my teeth, the usual. I also roll out and stretch in the evenings (that helps me stay un-injured since I run roughly 40 miles a week during the season). Then I aim to go to bed by 10 so I can do it all over again tomorrow.

(Needless to say, I do absolutely nothing on the weekends unless I truly have to, I don’t know how some people are this busy all the time. I need like, two full days of sleeping in order to stay on top of my week)

Anyway thank you guys for reading! That was my daily routine, I don’t know if it contained any tips for helping you guys manage your time, but I hope so!

Anastasia Matte Lipstick Set Review + Swatches

Hello guys! Welcome back to our blog. Today I want to review for you the Anastasia Matte lipsticks that I’ve tried in this set and I actually really enjoy. This post will include swatches of all four as well.

Overview:

  • This kit is discontinued I believe, but I found mine at Marshalls for $14
  • cruelty free!
  • Contains four mini lipsticks in varying shades of pink from Anastasia’s matte lipstick line.
  • Orchid, Cotton Candy, Stargazer, Plumeria are the shades included and they are all available in the full size.

Promise: Anastasia Beverly Hills Matte Lipsticks are full pigment lip color with a smooth, ultra-matte finish. (From the Anastasia Website)

These definitely have an ultra matte finish, they look like you’ve applied a super matte liquid lip, but they are not nearly as drying. My only complaint with these is that this formula is not super creamy and smooth, it almost feels like you’re applying a powder/cream lipstick, it won’t glide across your lips cleanly. With a little bit of patience you can build them up to a gorgeous gorgeous matte finish though. They are comfortable, not drying at all and they are pretty long wearing. Almay liquid liner in black

Hello loves!! Thank you for joining us for yet another fun blog! A quick thanks to all who have been following our blogs lately, and if youre new WELCOME we love you!

Now for those who have been following our blogs for awhile know that i have a slight obsession with lipsticks. Its such a problem! My second obsession though if definitley eyeliner. I am always on the hunt for the best eyeliner. One thats water proof, smudge proof and long lasting. And im always eager to try out brands that ive never heard of. ALMAY being one of them!

Now this retails for about $6 or $7 which is pretty affordable for an eyeliner. Now it doesnt look like you can purchase it from their website, but i do know you can get it at Walmart or Ulta!

Now what does this promise?

Get beautiful definition with this easy-to-use liquid eyeliner. Water-resistant formula lasts up to 16 hours without irritation. Unique “inkwell” design delivers fresh color every time. Flex-tip applicator provides mistake-proof control.

Thats what this eyeliner is supposed to do, now lets take it step by step.

Did it give me beautiful definition?

Fairly good, the tip was very fine which did make for a more precise application, but i will say it gave of a very liquidy consistancy even after shaking before using. It was kind of like if i were to use black water color as eyeliner, which i wasnt a huge fan of for wings. For a more natural look without wings it was okay.

Is it water resistant?

I will say i was shocked to find that it was water resistant. If i lay down, there is always one eye that gets really watery. I have no idea why, but laying down after doing my makeup is always risky because of it and i dont know how many times ive ruined my eyeliner by it. Thankfully when i used this product, although i dont like the water color looking wings it gave me, it did last through my leaky eyes.

16hr and no irritation?

I will say it lasted for about 9hrs, at least thats how long i was wearing the product for. I have no doubt that it would definitley have lasted longer if i had worn it. As for irritation it did make my eyes itch a bit when i drew one some wings, but if i didnt add wings there was no irritation.

Mistake proof control?

Ladies we’ve all been there before, those bad eyeliner days where the tip decides to like go crazy? So much for straight wings right?I will say that the tip is rather flexible and the times i have used this eyeliner, i have yet to muff anything up.

Now is it my favorite eyeliner in the whole entire world? No, it just personally isnt the type that i like. If it was a thicker/ darker more matte consistancy i think it would totally be a must have. Alas it is not, but i do like to use this product when im do lazy to go all out and want a more natural look.

Thats it for todays blog!

February Beauty Favorites!

Hi guys! Welcome back to our blog. I haven’t written a post in a little while and I’m so happy to be back. Today is the day when we talk about beauty favorites from the last month, so let’s jump into it.

Face Products:

Urban Decay Naked Skin Concealer in Fair

This concealer is something I’ve had for a long time but I was never able to make it work for me before this month. I apply just a little bit with my finger or a sponge underneath my eyes and on anywhere I want to spot conceal and it truly looks beautiful with sheer-medium coverage. Before I was using too much product and it kept going cakey and looked horrible under my eyes, but now I love this concealer!

Eye Products:

Smashbox Full Exposure mascara in Black

This mascara is so pretty on my lashes, it makes them look fake and so long. I love that this gives me a little bit of volume, black lashes, and makes them long. The brush is huge, so that is my only issue with it, but that does make sure that I get all my lashes coated. I love that this mascara keeps my lashes curled too!

Tartelette Matte eyeshadow palette

If you couldn’t tell, this was the month of discovering old things in my collection! I recently pulled this out and now I am obsessed with it. The shadows really work for me now and I enjoy them! My absolute favorite look is using the four purple toned shadows in the middle row, it is so pretty and compliments my brown eyes.

Butter London Glazen Eye Gloss in Icing

This is a stunning eyeshadow, it is a jelly so I usually apply a glitter glue (my favorite is the nyx pigment primer) and then I just pat it on with my fingertips, it is so stunning and glittery, and the formula doesn’t crease. This has been my go-to for a quick and low maintenance glittery eye look.

Lip Products

Urban Decay cream finish lipstick in Violate

This purple-pink cream lipstick pairs gorgeously with that warm toned purply eye look I have been doing a ton of. It is so pretty and the formula is so moisturizing and comfortable. I love using this as cream blush also, it is really pretty and I can’t get enough of using it!

Buxom Full On Lip Cream in Patricia

This is a gorgeous lip topper, it is pink and has shimmers that are white-gold and blue in it. Although that might sound tacky it is actually so pretty on its own, or over lipstick and you guys already know I love the Buxom gloss formula. It is a little bit cooling because it is a plumper but it makes your lips look really juicy and soft.

Those are my favorites for this month! I hope you guys enjoyed this post and I will see you all with a new one very soon. Let me know in the comments something you’ve been loving!

Beauty Empties: January + February

Hey guys! Welcome back to our blog. Today it is time to talk about empties! These are some of my favorite posts to write, so let’s get into it-

Makeup

Becca First Light Priming Filter

This primer is so pretty on the skin and it really does hydrate and give you a glow. It keeps my skin from feeling and looking dry under foundations. I’ve already repurchased!

Tarte Gifted Mascara

I wasn’t jazzed about this mascara in my original review, but it is gorgeous once it dries out a little. It is easy to work with, it is volumizing, it is super black, it doesn’t get everywhere throughout the day, I would repurchase!

Tarte Tartiest Mascara

I really enjoyed this mascara while I had it, but I don’t miss it at all. It makes your lashes really black, but sometimes can really clump them up. I don’t want to spend $20 on this mascara, so I won’t repurchase. Continue reading “Beauty Empties: January + February”

What’s In My Shower: Cruelty Free Hair and Body Products

Hello guys! Welcome back to our blog. Today I want to share with you the products in my shower. When I went cruelty free it was hard to find cruelty free bath products, so here are some brands and products I’ve discovered that I love, and are cruelty free!

Body Care:

I could not get the body wash bottle to show up true to color in photographs, sorry!

Everyone body soap in the scent Citrus+Mint – I love this body wash and it isn’t super expensive. I highly recommend that you try this brand out, they have more scents and you are sure to find something you will like.

Tree Hut Coconut Lime Body Scrub – This is the best body scrub! It is a nice texture, has a good consistency and leaves your skin moisturized but not oily. This scrub smells amazing and I think you need it in your life.

Alba Botanica Shave Cream – I enjoy this shave cream, it makes my skin really soft and helps stop you from catching your skin or nicking yourself. I also love the cremo shave cream which is just as cheap and also cruelty free.

Hair Care:

Acure pumpkin and organ oil shampoo – This is such a lovely shampoo! I enjoy that it doesn’t dry out my scalp or my hair and it gets my hair incredibly clean. Highly recommend this if you want a gentle shampoo that will also clean your scalp well.

Giovanni 2chic avocado and olive oil shampoo  – This is the other shampoo I keep in my shower. It doesn’t get my hair quite as clean as the Acure, but I would recommend this if you have dry hair and need moisture!

Estee Lauder Perfectly Clean

Hello lovlies! Welcome back to yet another fantastic blog! Once again if you noticed this was published blank a few dys ago, it was because i completely forgot to write up this blog. I had it drafted and never copied and pasted it before the publish date. Im sorry!

Now i got this Estee Lauder perfectly clean makeup remover when i first moved the Texas in the summer of 2018. I was fresh out of makeup remover and wanted to try out something new. While wandering around the outlet mall for job and makeup remover i found this. Its a travel size bottle, so i figured i would use this while my usual makeup remover was being shipped out to me.

Now on the Estee Lauder website, it claims that this product is a Triple-Action Cleanser/Toner/Makeup Remover. It promises to cleanse, tone and remove makeup.

Now i will go in order of what it promises.

Cleanser:

When you use this product, the pump will pump out a foam, similar to those foaming hand sanitizers. This made me a bit skeptical because it came out so light, i was unsure as to how well it would work. I was a bit disapointed when i used this to clean my face off and i didnt really feel cleansed. I didnt feel fresh or anything. Then again i wasnt surprised. The foam was so light. I will say i used this both in the morning before appying makeup and then at night after/ for removing makeup to see if perhaps using this product in the morning would change how i felt about it, and unfortunatley it didnt.

Toner:

For Toner i usually use Pixi or Witch Hazel (lavender or rose) which really work for me. Once again i was very disapointed when this product didnt tone my face whatsoever. So far it was two strikes out and i was begining to feel like i lucked out. On top of it not toning my skin, it also left it a bit oily feeling which i didnt like at all. Especially when the website said that it would actually take away any oily feeling.

Makeup remover:

As state above, the main reason i bought this product was to remove makeup, so i had my fingers crossed that at least it would do that. It seemed from the surface to remove my makeup. There was a bit of eyeliner still on my eye lids, but other than that it looked to be all gone. Just to make sure, i used the last of my makeup wipes to make sure everything was off and was shocked to see that there was still resedue of makeup on my skin. It didnt clean it all off, only the surface which isnt going to be good for your skin if you dont clean all that makeup off your skin!

So three strikes and it was out. I was so bummed that this didnt work. I would also like to add that there was definitley perfumes in this, and i did react with my sensitve skin a bit, so if any of you out there wanted to also give it a try and have sensitive skin do watch out please!

This product retails at $29 online, but i got it for like $15. Either way i do believe for me it was a waste of money.

Thats it for todays blog!

Top 5 Favorite Drugstore Makeup Products

Hey guys! Welcome back to our blog. I’ve done this post before, so consider this a part 2. I’m here to share 5 more makeup products from the drugstore that I absolutely love. Let’s  jump into it.

1. NYX Control Freak brow gel

I’ve already used up a tube of this and am on my second one. This is a great medium hold brow gel that keeps my brows in place all day, and really sets the color in place too. I can always trust that my brows will look just as good at the end of the day as they do when I first apply my makeup, and it is so cheap, I love it.

2. Milani Retouch and Erase Concealer

This concealer has been my go-to! It was featured in my favorites last month, and I almost use it everyday. It is so hard to find a concealer that doesn’t crease on me, but this one doesn’t crease and it gives good coverage, and it is lightweight. I prefer this over my Urban Decay Naked concealer!

3. NYX Micro Brow Pencil in Taupe

This brow pencil is my absolute favorite! It is so easy to work with, I’m sure you guys have heard me talk about it before, I just love it. It has the best consistency and the best color selection. I always find that my brows come out well when I use this pencil and I highly recommend it.

4. LA colors High Shine Shea Butter lip gloss

This clear gloss goes over all my liquid lipsticks, I also wear it all the time by itself for my everyday look. It is so moisturizing and it is also so cheap that I cannot believe how amazing it is. I use this sometimes at night just as a lip balm and I have already repurchased it.

5. NYX pigment primer

This is the best pigment primer I’ve ever found, it also works great just as a regular eyeshadow primer since it goes on so smooth. I always use this when I wear glitter since it makes my shadows look so foiled and it prevents fallout.

That was it for my top 5 drugstore products at the moment. What have you been loving from the drugstore, let me know in the comments below!
