E.L.F Tone Correcting Powder Review

Hello guys! Today I have a beauty bargain to share with you. I’ve been using this powder for a while and I wanted to do a review on it!

Overview:

  • Price: $4
  • Cruelty free and 100% vegan!
  • Translucent pressed powder

Promise: Create a balanced and radiant complexion that is beautiful and healthy. The lightweight formula evens out skin tone and absorbs excess oil, and sheer formula brightens, mattes and neutralizes the skin.

I thought that this product really did live up to the promises. I love this for setting my foundation, I use a dewy finish foundation (I have drier skin) and once I layer this over it, it becomes a satiny – matte finish and I love how it looks. It is sheer and the colors don’t show up, the powder becomes translucent on your skin. It is very finely milled and feels very smooth and silky on your skin. It will absorb excess oil, Continue reading “E.L.F Tone Correcting Powder Review”

The mirror

Hello love bugs!

A few weeks ago I went to our local value village in search of some vintage clothes.

I had a really cool wardrobe idea, where I was going to buy clothes either made it a certain era or inspired by a certain era. My plan is to start from the 1930s and then work my way up all the way to the 1980s.

While I was searching for clothes I found this light up magnifying mirror. I’ve always wanted a light up magnifying mirror, and this was only $3.99! So I got it. But I knew for it to be sold at such a low price there had to be some problem with it.

Was it the USB plug in? Was it broken there?

Nope when I got home and plugged it in, all was fine

Was it the actual lights?

Nope the lights worked perfectly, although I was a bit scared at first, when I stepped away from the light it would turn off, so I thought that that was the problem, it didn’t stay on for very long. Later I figured out that it’s motion sensor and you have to be close enough to see your face magnified for it to stay on. Once you’re close enough to do your makeup and whatnot it will stay on!

So I found this to be a mega steal, and it’s my new favorite mirror!

What do you this of my wardrobe idea?

Magnifying mirrors or normal mirrors?

Pacifica Dream Big Mascara Review

Hello guys! Welcome back to our blog! I have been testing out this mascara from Pacifica for the last few weeks. It has an adjustable wand, so I was dying to try out that feature, of course!

Overview:

  • Price: $16
  • Cruelty free and vegan!

Promise:

7 in 1:
• Lash Serum • Instant Length • Lash Lifting • Volumizing • Conditioning • Rich Color • 2 in 1 Brush

To be honest, I have quite mixed feelings on this mascara, so I’m just going to lay out my thoughts, and you can decide whether this mascara will work for you!

This mascara has kind of a jelly/clay formula, it is thick and goopy. It doesn’t weigh down your lashes, it actually curls mine nicely. This doesn’t give me much length but it will give you lots of volume. This just got so clumpy on me. The product is thick and it takes a long time to comb through your lashes if you would like to have more than three eyelashes on each eye and separate them. I just don’t have time for that in order to get the look I want when I have so many other mascaras that work better.

Our First Influenster Voxbox: Matrix Rebond Haircare Review

Hello guys! We got our first Influenster Voxbox a couple of weeks ago and we were so excited! We received the total results line, the Shampoo, Pre-conditioner and Conditioner from Matrix.

Overview:

  • Price: Shampoo: $9.7, Preconditioner: $13.50, Conditioner: $9.75 all are color safe.
  • This brand says they are cruelty free, but are a part of L’oreal which might still test on animals in China.
  • 10.1 Oz of product

Promise: This whole line of haircare is supposed to repair damaged hair by reconnecting hair bonds and make your hair soft and strong.

Our thoughts:

Shampoo –

Christine (Straight hair that is lightened): I liked the shampoo because a little went a long way, it lathered really well, my hair felt pretty clean afterward.

Hailey (Curly): This was way too harsh for my hair type because I need a very hydrating shampoo, but it did leave my hair clean and get rid of any product buildup.

Overall: Recommend for girls with straighter hair types.

Preconditioner –

NYX Liquid Suede Cream Lipstick Review

Hello everyone! I know that literally everyone has reviewed these cream lipsticks but I wanted to give you guys my take on them because I do have some pros and cons with this formula!

Promise: Our Liquid Suede Cream Lipstick glides on and sets into a striking matte finish.

Overview:

  • cruelty free!
  • Price: $6.99 (bargain)
  • matte finish

I do think that these do glide on, they are so opaque and pigmented which I absolutely love and they have a really matte finish so they accomplish the promise! They don’t really dry down all the way, (not a liquid lipstick) and feel a bit sticky if you press your lips together while you wear them. The stickiness slightly bothers me but the formula is comfortable. They are super matte which I absolutely love but they do feel kind of thick on your lips and are not as lightweight and whipped as the formulas that I usually enjoy.

Swatch:

This is the shade Bedtime Flirt and I kind of want to pick up more of these!

Pros:

  • Super matte finish
  • opaque and really pigmented
  • comfortable formula
  • pretty long lasting (except through food)
  • cruelty free!

Cons:

  • Thick formula that you can feel on the lips
  • does feel slightly sticky
  • doesn’t layer well (you shouldn’t need more than one, although touch ups can get a bit sticky)

The only thing I would change about these if I could is to make them a little more lightweight and less sticky. Overall I am willing to overlook it because they are so pigmented and I do like them, especially for a bargain price.

Mini Haul from the Drugstore

Hello everyone and welcome back to our blog! I recently picked up a couple things from the drugstore and I wanted to share them with you guys! All of these purchases are cruelty free for those of you buying consciously, and their all bargains as well. I’ll be doing a bargain of the month for you all soon depending on how well these work!

ELF Flawless Finish Foundation in the shade Porcelain

This foundation was super cheap, and I think the shade match will work for me although it may be a little dark. It is oil free and has SPF15. I hope that this works out as a lightweight full coverage foundation since I don’t have anything higher coverage than a CC cream at the moment.

Milani Color Statement Lipstick Review

Hello everyone and welcome back to our blog! I hope all of you guys are doing well! Today I’m going to review these Milani color statement lipsticks I got in the beginning of january. Milani and their lip products especially have been slaying on YouTube and all around WordPress so I was super excited to give these a go.

The promise: vitamin a and c infused lipsticks that feel as good on the lips as they look! (Milani website)

Price point: drugstore! (around six dollars)

I have been wearing the bright pink super often. Both have a matte finish which I like, they are so comfortable. Both of them have equal levels of pigmentation so the color statement line is fairly consistent! These do not feather or bleed out of the lip line which is a definite bonus and they are pretty long wearing!
