Hello guys! Welcome back to our blog! Unfortunately, neither of us have been able to blog lately, but now that it is summer we are back! I recently just finished my first year of college and I wanted to share how I felt about it:
First semester life update: here!
*My first semester was lovely, I truly enjoyed it! If you haven’t read that post then it might make sense to read it first before this one!*
My second semester of college started in mid-January and it ended just last week after finals. This semester I felt like I had a better handle on my coursework and that I could take on some side projects, I also felt like I was happier, I was less lonely, less homesick and like I was finally starting to make a lot of good friends.
My grades are still good, the classes I am taking are so interesting, and I love what I’m studying. I always make sure that schoolwork is my first priority, I want to keep my good gpa, and I am proud of myself for the work that I did this semester.
As you guys know, I also run cross country and track for my college! This semester was track season, so I was incredibly busy. We had a track meet in Los Angeles, and a couple of other big cities and the traveling was so much fun! I’m grateful for that experience and I am so excited to be on the team next year and continue having fun. I also got so close to all the girls on my team and they great friends of mine and life mentors (since they are all upperclassmen, I’m the only freshman).
Because I am now feeling much more adjusted to the college life, I felt like I could handle my schoolwork and could take on some additional projects just for fun. I was able to work for one of my professors, I’m transcribing audio from interviews that he has done with some famous sound engineers from Motown records, and I also started bullet journaling (with my own spin on it because I’m really not that artsy). That has really helped my mental health and I would love to post about it if you guys are interested!
I’ve also made some lifelong friends and stayed connected to Christine and some of my other high school friends, and I feel like I fit in while I’m at college. I’m really excited for next semester and I’m already looking forward enjoying my summer (I’m doing a lot of road tripping and traveling so let me know if you’d be interested in posts on that!) and then going back to school for sophomore year.
Thank you so much for reading and giving both me and Christine a place to share our thoughts and our journeys!
Congratulations!
Looking forward to reading more of your blog posts x
