Happy August my lovelies!!!
Let’s face it girls, every foundation is different, and some we just favor more.

Let’s have a battle of the foundations!

Our first contestant is Maybelline New York’s dream velvet soft-matte hydrating foundation in the shade Nude 40 !

This lovely little tube comes out easily. It’s spreads smoothly and gives a perfect matte look.

And who doesn’t love that matte look?!

Next up is L’oreal Paris 24hr infallible total cover foundation 305 in the shade natural beige  Continue reading

NYX Liquid Suede Cream Lipstick Review

Standard

Hello everyone! I know that literally everyone has reviewed these cream lipsticks but I wanted to give you guys my take on them because I do have some pros and cons with this formula!

Promise: Our Liquid Suede Cream Lipstick glides on and sets into a striking matte finish.

Overview:

  • cruelty free!
  • Price: $6.99 (bargain)
  • matte finish

I do think that these do glide on, they are so opaque and pigmented which I absolutely love and they have a really matte finish so they accomplish the promise! They don’t really dry down all the way, (not a liquid lipstick) and feel a bit sticky if you press your lips together while you wear them. The stickiness slightly bothers me but the formula is comfortable. They are super matte which I absolutely love but they do feel kind of thick on your lips and are not as lightweight and whipped as the formulas that I usually enjoy.

Swatch:

This is the shade Bedtime Flirt and I kind of want to pick up more of these!

Pros:

  • Super matte finish
  • opaque and really pigmented
  • comfortable formula
  • pretty long lasting (except through food)
  • cruelty free!

Cons:

  • Thick formula that you can feel on the lips
  • does feel slightly sticky
  • doesn’t layer well (you shouldn’t need more than one, although touch ups can get a bit sticky)

The only thing I would change about these if I could is to make them a little more lightweight and less sticky. Overall I am willing to overlook it because they are so pigmented and I do like them, especially for a bargain price.

Summer Project Pan Halfway Update!

Standard

Hi guys! This is my halfway update for my seasonal project pan which will be ending in late september. I have a few makeup items I am attempting to use up and I am excited to share my progress with you guys!

What I have finished:

EOS lip balm – was okay, would not repurchase because it isn’t cruelty free!

Neutrogena Cream Cleanser – this is amazing! Definitely recommend to you guys if you are able to buy it, but it isn’t cruelty free so I won’t repurchase

Progress!

5 Products I’ve Changed my Mind About!

Standard

Hello everyone and welcome back to our blog! I have some products to share with you that I have changed my mind about after using them for a while. Some I disliked and now I absolutely love and some the opposite happened!

1. Tarte Lights Camera Lashes mascara

This used to be a holy grail of mine but now after trying out so many others it just seems meh. Like it gets the job done but I honestly am not reaching for it. After I finish this tube I won’t buy another.

2. Tarte Tartiest mascara

I hated this upon first impression because of how bad it flaked and how it was goopy. After using it for a month it stopped flaking and I figured out how to work with it. Now it is actually my favorite mascara! It gives beautiful volume.

3. Becca Beach tint lip shimmer in the shade Rasberry/Opal

I loved this when I first got it and I thought it was so gorgeous! But as a couple months passed I started liking it less. It feels a little sticky on the lips which I dislike especially because of how expensive this is. Continue reading

E.L.F July

Standard

Hello my lovelies! I can’t believe July is over!!

During the month of July, I happened to get a lot of E.L.F products, for myself and as birthday gifts.
The first product i got was their Ivory creme concealor stick,

Now the previous liquid concealor stick i got from E.L.F i did not like, I didn’t like how within a week the bottle was pretty much gone. So this time I got a creme stick, personally I find they last much longer. I really love this stick, it covers very well and spreads cleanly.
Next I got the E.L.F lipstick. In the shade of pink

Way back to last summer I got this exact shade from Forever 21 and loved it. This year I got It as a gift. It is the same shade as my lips, so it makes the whole look look natural. Not to mention it keeps my lips hydrated! Continue reading

Going Cruelty-Free – Skincare, Haircare, Perfume + Misc

Standard

Hello guys! I have almost made my makeup collection cruelty free and I started picking out which other products I need to use up. I am happy to report that my nail polish is 100% cruelty free, but my skincare and haircare are not there yet! Today I’m going to show you what I have left to use up and it actually isn’t very much which is exciting for me!

Skincare:

Lancome Bi-Facil Makeup remover – This is a deluxe sample and it is almost gone. I have another from Florane (cruelty free) to try next.

Elizabeth Arden Let There Be Light – I found a dupe from ELF that I will buy instead once I finish it, it’s about 3/4 gone!

Haircare:

Hair One Hair Conditioner – This is HG of mine and also a gray area. I couldn’t find evidence that it is cruelty free and I also could not find evidence that it isn’t. Until I’m sure I am going to count it as not cruelty free!

Perfume:

One Month – One Palette Finale

Standard

Hi guys! Welcome back to our blog! So this whole past month of July, I have been only using one palette: The Bobbi Brown Beauty Book Palette. It has six eyeshadows and a blush and bronzer so I had plenty to use.

I am happy to say that I actually used this almost everyday for the whole month and I really did enjoy it. The eyeshadows were not bad, the only duds for me were the matte brown transition shade which lacked pigment/was chalky and the silver shade which had a lot of fallout.

My absolute favorite shade was the champagne-pink shimmer (shade name: Blush Gold)! It is stunning and the formula is amazing on that one. I have to find a cruelty free dupe because I need that shade in my collection.

I used the white shade to set my foundation and concealer and it worked fantastically which was actually quite neat to discover!

Before and After Eyeshadow:
