Charlotte Tilbury Matte Revolution Lipstick Review!

Hello everyone and welcome back to our blog! This is the first lipstick I have ever bought from Charlotte Tilbury and her products are always hyped up quite a bit. This was in my may favorites but I still think that it deserves a review of its own!

Promise: Magical, matte lipstick with a long-lasting, buildable, hydrating formula. Lipstick Tree & Orchid extract softens, protects and hydrates lips for younger-looking, healthy lips. 3D glowing pigments create the illusion lit-from-within lips that appear wider and fuller

Overview:

  • Cruelty free!
  • Shade: Very Victoria
  • $35.99 (above high end, major splurge)
  • matte finish

This has a lot of really amazing promises. I personally think that it is very long lasting, and fades really prettily, you don’t realize that it is fading until it is almost gone and its even fading. It also is buildable and the bottom layer will not move around as you apply another. I think it is hydrating, it is one of the creamiest lipsticks I have ever tried! This matte formula is hands down my favorite. In my opinion it doesn’t make you lips appear fuller on its own, so it doesn’t live up to that promise but overall it is an amazing lipstick. The finish is matte but not flat and it is still dimensional and non-drying.

Swatch:

Pros:

  • super creamy
  • buildable
  • pigmented
  • matte but not flat finish
  • fades evenly
  • long wearing
  • non-drying and is in fact hydrating
  • it is not sticky at all

Cons:

  • personally I don’t think that it made my lips appear fuller (one of the promises)
  • will emphasize any chappedness so put a lip balm on before

Overall I love this lipstick and it is one of the lipsticks I have been reaching for a ton lately. I love the finish and the longevity and it feels so creamy that I enjoy putting it on. I really want to get more shades, but I will have to wait until I am not broke anymore!
