Hi everyone! Welcome back to our blog! I recently had a ton of inspiration and Thursday posts will probably be happening a bit more often. It’s so exciting to be writing to nearly 300 of you guys oh my gosh. Today I’m going to be reviewing the Revlon ultra HD matte lip color. Unless you all have not been on Instagram lately you’ve probably seen it everywhere! This is the shade Addiction, a gorgeous pink berry shade. I was excited to get my hands on it initially, let’s see how well it upholds its promise.
Promises: velvety matte color and finish, moisturizing, and lightweight.
After wearing this quite a bit I found that it doesn’t dry for about half an hour, which I wasn’t expecting. It stays wet for a long time, providing a little bit of sheen for that time but it is also going to transfer to anything and everything while it is wet. The color isn’t patchy and goes on well.
- Non patchy color, I think it’s pretty pigmented.
- Lightweight and comfortable
- Non drying
- Smells sweet
- Does not emphasize lip lines
- Not transfer proof
- It will bleed out of your lip line unless you put on lipliner before
- Takes forever to dry
- It isn’t totally matte, which is what I expected from the name of it.
- Isn’t very long wearing
- Revlon isn’t cruelty free
The bottom line: I love this formula for everyday, don’t expect it to last all night because it is not even close to transfer proof. While I like that it is not drying I would prefer something that would stay put a little bit more, but it is very comfy to wear. If you are looking for a true matte non transferring liquid lipstick this is not something I would recommend, but if you are looking for something almost matte that is moisturizing I would recommend this.
